It's the start of September, and you know what that means - time for all the kids and teachers to go back to school! Although something strange has happened at Melas Academy... it seems the teachers look so young and the kids look so old that nobody can tell the kids and teachers apart! Kids try to seize this opportunity to gain control of the school, teachers try to regain their control, and the custodians just try to cause chaos! It's madness at Melas, and someone has to come out on top.
Town of Salem Forum Rules apply. Sounds stupid that I have to say it, but there was an issue in a previous game.
If you don't post in the thread or PM me within a 48-hour period during a day, you will be prodded for inactivity. Receive 2 prods in a game, or go 24 hours without responding to a prod, and you will be replaced. I might not be actively checking for prods all the time (because it takes a long time and rarely turns up anyone) - so if you believe someone needs to be prodded, please PM me - please don't post "HEY IGGY PROD *person*", because it breaks the game thread and odds are I might not see it.
Prods will also be issued if I don't recieve any message from you during the 48-hour night. THIS INCLUDES PEOPLE WITH NO NIGHT ACTION. If you have no night action or you do not wish to use your night action, just send me a message saying so (note - for mafia, the mafia chat works just as well as a PM). This prevents metagaming of "X was prodded at night, therefore X has a night action." Everyone who has not sent in anything yet will (hopefully) get a warning about halfway through. I will not end a night on an active prod - once I recieve communication from everyone or replacements are made the day will begin. This is super unfun for everyone who has to wait, but it's unfair to a replacement who comes in and finds that they've lost a night and half a day because their replacement hasn't shown up. If you are signing up, please make sure you can commit to the whole game, and if not please tell me as soon as you can if things come up - we can always work something out, whether it's a temporary or permanent replacement. I've gotten more and more lenient on this as past games have gone on but I'm not going to give any leniency this game - I have to get a PM in the night as well as a post every 48 hours or prods will be given out.
I will be using some features of FMBot during this game. It won't be completely moderated by FMBot (which is something I hope to have in the future), but at this point vote counts will be done by FMBot, and I expect whispers to be ready by the time the game begins, if not by Day 2. It's also a possiblity that I may be collecting night actions through FMBot at some point during the game. Please pay attention to end-of-day messages where I will put more specific instructions.
The whisper limit for this game is 5 200-character whispers sent per day. No penalty for whispers recieved except for possibly spamming your PM box if you get a lot.
Gamethrowing (intentionally trying to lose) is punishable by possible removal from the game (moderator's discretion) and blacklisting from future games (at discretion of a committee of all moderators). Please don't ruin the game for everyone else. If you're unsure if something's gamethrowing, don't do it and PM me for a clarification. Fake gamethrowing is also not allowed for similar reasons. Spamming and "trolling" is not allowed - by trolling I don't mean posting a joke, but intentionally harassing someone to make them overly angry. I understand that this is a game and things can get heated - but I will send out notices to calm down and possibly lock the thread if things get out of control.
Please see the Encyclopedia of Controversial Occurances for my rules when I moderate. I am going under iggyvolz for all rules (obviously).
Note to any Gmods/FMods/Admins - if majority vote is reached please feel free to lock the thread. If majority vote is reached, please do not post in the thread after it is reached. If you see an FM mod online, you may PM them asking them to lock the thread, but please don't do so for Gmods or Admins unless they've stated they're OK with it because they don't need to be bothered. Eventually FMBot will be able to automatically lock the thread, but that's on the to-do list.
Joining rules - You are only allowed one Legit FM game (episode or episode + letter) and one CFM game at a time, with an SFM game counting as either. At the moment, the situations that would make a player ineligible are being in FM7E, FM7F, or a combination of CFM9 and SFM8 (with SFM counting as a Legit FM game). I may not be able to check every player but you should be able to know what games you are in. Failure to comply with the number-of-games rule results in removal from the newest game and a warning, with the possibility of disciplinary action taken if the behavior is blatant or occurs multiple times.
Backup rules - I am continuing with the rules I used for Episode 7 for this game, with a slight change to how backup queuers who don't respond are handled. Backups are for people who want to get into the game and are able to, not for someone who just wants to have a seat to pick and choose when to join. The backup queue will fill after the main game - you cannot simply take a spot on backups because I'll bump you right into the game. Backups must be completely eligible to join the game at any given time - see "Joining rules" above. If a replacement must occur, then I will PM the first 5 players on the backup queue. After 24 hours, the topmost-ranking responder will get the spot, and all others will be prodded for inactivity. Failure to respond to the prod within 24 hours, or receiving multiple prods, will result in removal from the backup queue permanently, without a chance to rejoin, and will be treated like removal from the game.
Changes from normal:
- Executioner modification is now in play. If an Executioner gets their target kicked out of school, they will go to Las Vegas, taking someone with them who helped them along the way that night. This is different than my original modification. To make sure it gets tested, an Executioner is confirmed in the role list.
- The Mayor must now PM a moderator to prove that they are the Mayor. As such, text in the thread like "I am the mayor!" will not count as a reveal.
- To go along with the school theme, I'll be writing the flavour text differently - I'll just make it up as I go along (like always
