Welcome to: Salem Apocalypse II


Game Rules

1) Be respectful. This should be common sense, but it's worth reminding. There will be NO tolerance on racial/homophobic/sexist remarks, those being punishable with replacement. If any posts/discussions are becoming a little too heated and insults are being thrown around, I'll give a friendly reminder to stay cool. If a specific user is deliberately trying to be rude towards others, they'll receive an official warning. Persisting said rude behavior after an official warning will get you replaced.

2) Do not gamethrow. This basically means: ALL your actions must have your specific win condition in mind. Attemting to undermine your/others of the same faction's chance to win (shooting a revealed Mayor as vigilante, joining the town as witch against evildoers, etc.) will get you blacklisted from future games. This can include "Jesting".

3) Inactivity. After 36 hours if a player has not posted I will prod them for inactivity. If they do not reply or post within 18 hours they will be replaced. If I prod them again, they will be replaced. If you're going to be inactive for a long period, please let me know in advance so I can find a replacement.

4) No outside communication. All game-related communication between living players must be kept between the day thread, night conversation or whispers. You might not talk with dead players if you're alive or vice-versa unless you're a medium using your ability. Please refrain from the use of third-party programs such as Skype, other forums, etc. to share any kind of info. Break of this rule might end in blacklisting from future games. This includes no outside-source use of cryptographic codes, too.

5) Please do not spam. Avoid cluttering the thread. Some players can't be online all the time, and spam makes it harder for them to catch up. Try to use the forum fuctions at your disposal (Quote, Preview, Spoiler) so your thoughts are organized in a single big post instead of multiple small ones.

6) Whispers: Players have access to four 200 character whispers each day. Send a private message to Arcthurus, Invenio AND Santa with the whisper and the intended recipient (e.g "Whisper to UserName"). It will be posted in the main thread when sent.

7) Last Wills/Death Notes: Last wills and death notes will also be used. PM Arcthurus, Invenio AND Santa with the subject line as "Death Note" or "Last Will" if this is not followed then I can't guarentee your note will be posted. Any role that kills has the option for a death note.

8) Flavour Text: Do not make any assumptions based on the description of a lynch or kill, for example. Like the name says, it's just flavour.

9) Important Links: Be sure to look at Guzame's Rules for more info, the rolecards we'll be using and the ECO if you don't know how a situation is handled. The game will be run under Arcthurus's set of rules.

Your target works with magic! They must be a Retributionist or a Witch!

Your target has no specific characteristics about them! They must be a Citizen!


Sheriff Results
Spoiler: All Zombies/Pirates appear as suspicious except for the Zombie Lord/Captain.
The Sheriff will know if their target is a Disguiser or Ghoul.
The Sheriff will know if their target was visited by a Disguiser, Ghoul, Parrot Keeper, or Prankster that night. He will be told that 'Your target was the victim of foul deceptions!' but not what exact roles visited.
The Sheriff will know if their target is a Serial Killer, a Stalker, or a Nanotechnologist.
Everyone else appears as NS.

Role-Buff Summary
Spoiler: Sheriff
- (Not really a buff but a small change worth noting:) The Sheriff will be able to tell if a person is suspicious or not-suspicious. Pirates and Zombies appear as suspicious. He can also find the serial killer, stalker, and nanotechnologist - he will know exactly what role they are.
- The Sheriff will also be able to tell exactly if his target is the victim of a disguise, or if his target is the victim of a prankster or parrot keeper.

Spy
- They can change their tapping target at any time during the day. They will only receive whispers from the new target after this occurs. They can choose to tap someone for the next day at night, meaning all whispers from the beginning of the day from that target will be given to them.


Doctor
- If the doctor successfully saves their target, he will know what faction the attacker is on

Marshal
- Will be using the marshal in hydra

Medium
- The medium has one seance which they can use to communicate to the living when they are dead. Basically what it's like in ToS

Vigilante
- The vigi can choose to use one of his bullets during the day. The gun will be shot at the end of the day, when the lynch occurs. Night immunity is not bypassed, but protectives will not be able to save his target, nor will he be able to be role-blocked or witched!

Lawyer
- I will be using metrion's first lawyer buff

Mayor
- When the mayor reveals, he will still be one for his vote weight. For every night that he survives, his vote weight will increase by 1, with a maximum of 4

Captain/Zombie Lord
- The captain and zombie lord can send out one secret message to their crewmates during the day
- The captain and zombie lord will be informed of their crewmates' night results

Crow's Nest/Telepath
- They can change their tapping target at any time during the day. They will only receive whispers to/from the new target after this occurs. They can choose to tap someone for the next day at night, meaning all whispers from the beginning of the day to/from that target will be given to them.

Forger/Framer
- Using the framer used in hydra

Boatswain/Vandal
- These two roles can use up one of their cleans during the day, cleaning a lynched person's role. Can only be used once.

Amnesiac
- The amnesiac has a vest which they refuse to take off until they are attacked once, similar to the witch shield, however it can be bypassed by dousing and other night-immunity bypassers unlike the witch's. Comes off when they remember a role.

Stalker
- Both stalker buffs (kills escort and stuff on top, kills during the day too)

Arsonist
- The arsonist can douse one person without them receiving a notification


The Disguiser/Ghoul, Empath, and Nanotechnologist rolecards:
Spoiler: You are a Disguiser/Ghoul.

Your alignment is Pirate/Zombie Deception.

[Flavour text]

Each night you can visit a player to steal their role.
You will appear as that role to investigators.
Watch out - if your night action fails then the investigator will know that you are a ghoul or disguiser.
While you hide from investigators, you do not trick the sheriff.
If you are lynched the next day, you will appear as the role you stole.
However, if you are killed at night you will be revealed as the disguiser/ghoul.
If there are no other kill capable Pirate/Zombie roles left, your role will become that of Quatermaster/Minion.
You can communicate with your allies each night, for as long as they are alive.


You are an Empath.

Your alignment is Town Support.

You are an individual blessed with a keen sharpness at understanding human psychology through use of empathy.
Your abilities have allowed you to know the true intentions of your friends, and has even been able to inspire people to change their minds in the past.

Each Day Phase, your powers will immediately inform you how many Town members voted in the majority vote.
Your ability to know how many Town members vote in the Majority is retained even in death.
If you are killed at Night, you can use your sense of Empathy to change the actions of one person, only once.



You are a Nanotechnologist

Your alignment is Neutral Killing

You were once a respected scientist in the field of nanotechnology. But after a freak accident during an experiment, one bot got inside your head and took control of your brain, causing you to become a maniac.

You have three nanobots to release during the night. You can release multiple during the same night.
The nanobot will duplicate and spread. Anyone who visits an infected target will become infected themselves. Anyone who the infected person visits will also be infected, until the night you activate the bots.
No-one will be notified if they get infected.
During any night you can choose to activate all infected nanobots. When you do this, the town will receive a warning that a nanobot attack is about to occur. Infected players will receive a personal notification. At the start of the next day, all infected players will die.
Once you have activated your attack, the only way it can be stopped is by killing you.
Bodyguards can kill you when you place the bots only. Doctors cannot save anyone, however they will know if they get infected, or if a target is infected.
Your bots bypass any sort of night immunity, including vests.
You are immune to witching and role-blocks.
You have night immunity.

Only 25 town members inhabited this town. The silence was eerie.

One of the town members threw away the vandalized pamphlet he found floating around. He knew they needed to begin getting rid of the zombies… before it was… all over. He knew a lynch today would put the town members in an advantageous position, but there wasn’t enough time for one. Poisonous gasses were already starting to accumulate over the town, and the longer they waited outside, the lower their chances of survival. Soon, everyone would need to hide in their homes and wait for the next morning, when the air would be clear - at least, clear enough to survive a few more days.

Day 1 Begins!

24 hours remain in day 1!

Day 1 will end at 7:40 CDT on the 31st of July.

I'm not sure I would set a survivor lynch in stone. True, it is an easy lie considering the role list, but JAD did claim right off the bat, implying he might be telling the truth. I'd wait a bit before jumping to a lynch.

Okay, hi. First off, I am totes Vampire. Second off, I regret not expressing many of my thoughts that could've helped in previous games, so this time around, I'm going to be as direct as I can. Hope no one minds. If you do, well, oops. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Third off, this isn't ToS. We don't lynch Survivor claims unless there's strong proof that they could be scum. Policy lynches are a thing of NEs and Phantoms, afaik. Wasting a lynch we could use on scum by lynching a true Neutral could hinder us.

I'm inclined to believe the Survivor claim, mainly because I doubt JAD decides to claim Survivor as scum again when that didn't exactly work out for him in CFM 7 at all.

Just saying here, don't hardclaim or softclaim randomly. Hardclaims are only acceptable if you have a reason :/
