Summer Solstice Writing Event [Ended]

I was asked by ElStar4Ever through the Wikia that she wanted to start a competition. She first asked another person who frequents the wikia, Ulithemuli, who referred her to me as someone whom could be relied on to help. After talking through the Wikia, Forums, and Email, we asked TurdPile if it was possible to host this. Unfortunetly, ElStar can't be hosting this alongside me. I couldn't let all this effort go to waste though, so I enthusiastically requested if I host this instead. Credits goes to ElStar4Ever for being the first person to conceive it.

• You may write about any of the of the 32 roles of Town of Salem
  • Google Sheet warning in link.
  • This does also include role that are not out yet at the time of me writing this.
• You may write about 5 roles maximum.
  
  • This means you can potentially win 5 times in each division
• May not submit/PM me a submission with multiple roles stories; you may only write about 1 role per submission. They must be different.
• Submit to Arckas. (Note: private messaging requires at least 1 forum post)
  
  • Important: The Subject of the PM must be "[Username] ToS Creative Writing [Role]"
  • Do not put more then 1 submission in per PM.
  • Must post at least once to be able to PM. If you need to make a first post, I recommend to create an introduction as well as just introduce yourself.
• if you have any questions, please either PM me with the title being "ToS Competition Question" of via this thread.
• Submissions will close June 21th 11:59 PM (-8 CST)
• What you submit and once I've opened my inbox is the final substance. You may not renege and ask to delete one thing to get another.

What you will submit is a creative writing paragraph describing roles in ToS. So long as it follows the guidelines given, you may do whatever you'd like.

• 150-350 word paragraph. (approximal; ok to go somewhat over)
• Must describe a person and how they are that role today.
• Must follow forums rules that apply to the submission

You'll be entering your story and will be reviewed by me and the [participating Staff Members] whom will then judge the story. There is no rubric, just the standard rules of creative writing and the guidelines. There is no points system, all stories will be reviewed. Please use pre-existing role stories on the Wikia as a rough example.

• Disguiser and Mayor are good samples. Look at others for for inspiration.

If you win 1st place in a contest, the story will be put on the Wikia as the set story for that role. This will not be changed or replaced by someone else along with points. I shall also ask for your permission to put your ToS username on the wikia to show for ownership in a picture file. The top 3 best stories for each category will receive 1300 town points.

Once the 1st place in the individuals have been decided, we'll go into the overall winner of the 32 competition. We shall only pick the 1st place winners of each individual role, and review them all over again to decide which ones of the best of group. Remember that this is based on opinions.

There will be three winners to this contest. They will each receive a free copy of Terraria for steam.

• You must have steam in order to receive the grand prizes. If you don't have a steam account, I'll give you X amount of time to make one. Its free, so there shouldn't be a problem. If you don't have it ready by X amount of time, we'll move on and you shall not receive anything.

Just saying, it's a bit redundant to say the place's prizes individually if they're all the same (1300 coins).

If you win, that included with everything else. If you don't need it for whatever reason and turn it down, someone else down the line of winners will get it.

For example, if first place turns down the grand prize and the rest accept, fourth place will get the offer. If they turn it down, so on and so forth until someone eventually takes it.

TurdPile said that he could do all 1300 points. Not going to argue for more and less there, so its all the same.

I'll adjust it so its not so redundant, as its still says the same thing either way.

Because you should still be allowed to write about them. If there is a discrepancy saying that you can't write them out, point it out to me so I can fix it.

Second I saw this I instantly put a story together.

I do however have some questions and concerns.

First being, how much can we go over the word limit? My first draft of this "paragraph" is 512 words .-.

Secondly, is formatting it in multiple paragraphs alright? This all being one paragraph kills my eyes.

I think I'll probably enter at least once but if I have time (house renovations and orientation this week) I may do 2 or 3. And all we're doing is like a background story for the roles; like how they became who they were?
