Postby FRCFresh » Tue Mar 17, 2020 10:07 am

Role Name:
Fortifier

Role Alignment:
Town (Protective)

Stats:
Attack: None

Abilities:
Fortify somebody's house to give them all immunities for two nights.

Attributes:
- Select a player during the night to fortify their house.
- You may only fortify your house once, and it will last for one night.
- You may have up to two fortified houses at the same time.
- Fortified houses block up to one attack of any power, meaning that if the target is attacked more than once in the same night they will receive the second attack (depending on priority, highest attack power is considered higher priority).
- The fort only blocks attacks made directly towards the player, meaning attacks happening while visiting a player (e.g. from the Werewolf during a Rampage, or a Veteran that you visited) will not be blocked and the player will only normally survive it if their defense allows it.
- A player whose house is fortified will not have their fort destroyed from roleblock attempts; they will just not be roleblocked.
- The player won't be notified about their house being fortified.

Notifications:
"You were attacked but the fort blocked it."
No notification for the player's house being fortified.

Overall, the role just seems like a stronger Doctor (even with a lack of some of its qualities).

Pros:
+ Can grant the target control and roleblock immunity.
++ Can grant itself protection of equal power to its targeting ability (the Bodyguard only gets a bulletproof vest, the Crusader doesn't have any self-protection, etc).
++ Can protect from a single attack of any power.
+++ Can protect up to two players in a single night.

Cons:
- Poor investigative result.
- Cannot protect from multiple attacks.
-- Cannot protect from indirect attacks.

I feel that its level of power is simply too strong compared to the Doctor, but the nerfs I would suggest to it would make it to similar. I suggest trying to rework it into a role that specializes in preventing manipulative abilities (cleaning, roleblocking, etc) but it weak or useless against killing roles (in which case, make it a Town Support). Also, refrain from adding non-evil roles into the framed/hexed result.

The point was to make a Town Protective role, since there's only two in the game (excluding Coven). It might indeed need some balancing though.
