Shield Master neutral (good) or town protective

Attributes:
At night, prepare a magic shield and give it to someone, granting the target basic defense for one attack(similar to the witch's one use shield).
Only three shields can be out at a time
It takes one night to remake a shield
Goal:
(If it is a neutral good) Live to see the coven parish
(If town protective) Lynch any and all evil doers
Backstory:
He was one of the few visited by the growing coven, but refused and tried to fight back. As a last ditch effort to escape, he flees through a portal left open by the witch, bringing him to the town. He was quickly jailed and interrogated by the jailer, but after offering to protect the jailer, he was let go. The next night, the jailer was attacked by the mafioso, but a magic shield blocked the attack.
Investigative results:
Sheriff: The target is innocent.
Investigator: The target is a witch, shield master, coven leader, or a hex master.
Consigliere: The target is masterful at protective arts, they must be a shield master!

Would be overpowered against the Mafia. Against the Coven too, come to think of it... it's similar to the Trapper in that it can leave shields behind after dying. It doesn't kill the attacker like the Trapper does, but on the other hand it doesn't lose its shield to non-attacking visits, and it can have several out at once... making it stronger than the Trapper, I'm guessing.

RNG is never good for any strategy based game. Please learn the definition of what that means, especially if you're one of the people constantly defending it.
