Mutiny Created and originally run by Fenraiser You are voyagers looking for a new life in a new land. Slates wiped clean, you are neither criminals or citizens. You are explorers on the open ocean. You head towards lands never seen, you'll face dangers and blessings head-on, and you must move foward. But, the real danger is not the seas, the storms, or the pirates out for your lives and gold. The greatest danger you all face is none other than yourselves.
It's back! Welcome once more to the Covenant. There have been some changes to mechanics that people may wish to take note of, even if they have played before. An important one is that you may take two roles. This has advantages and disadvantages as although you will have more abilities, you will be less skilled in those abilities.
Basic Mechanics:
Spoiler:Game phases are 48 hours. Phases will switch from day to night, although gameplay will not be significantly different from each other. Actions are free. They are effective as per the host's judgement. The game will end when all the players die, the ship is destroyed, or the destination has been reached.
Basic Stats:
Mutiny Level: Measured by the shiny new Mutiny Meter, this measures how badly things are going. When it reaches 100%, there will be a special event. Mutiny Events are very dangerous. It starts at 0. It increases by 10% every phase. A character death/kill will increase the mutiny level by 40% in normal circumstances. An NPC kill will only increase it by 10%. A quest going poorly (resulting in moderate+ injury, mass destruction of explored area, allied character/NPC death) increases the Mutiny level by 10% or more, depending on how badly it goes. Prisoners bring the Mutiny level up 6% per phase each. Fighting on board the ship between player characters raises the Mutiny level by 4%. Voyage Level: It is the level at which you are reaching your destination. Every day it increases by 20%.
Inactivity:
Prods are every 48 hours. If nothing is going on that you are involved with, you are welcome to send a PM or Discord message giving an activity you wish to do while waiting. This will pause your prods until the current event ends, at which point you will be expected to send more actions in again.
Characters/NPCs:
There are 6 players. Each player has some role which will give them certain abilities. You will be sent these, as well as your inventory via PM.To gain a role, simply /join as that role. First come first serve, and no doubles. What you can carry runs on rule of cool. As long as you are on the ship, anything you cannot carry is automatically stored in a chest in your quarters. This may be suspended during events. Every player can order NPCs at a limited level as per the NPCs feelings towards them. Characters shall not PM each other. Everything will be on this thread. Players can kill each other under normal circumstances. Be careful about this. NPCs are less effective at events and actions than other players. Players can choose what kind of profession/character they want. Any character can take any action, but the host will decide what happens. NPCs are housed in the room with their number.
Events:
Events can decrease or increase any of the stats. Events are used to progress the story. Pretty much anything can kill main characters, usually each other. NPCs can be sent to do events although they will be less effective than regular crew members. Keep an open mind. I reserve final say on events.
