You're right that this is similar, but I have the same misgivings about it as I do about James' statement. To pass the burden of proof to those who disagree with you, demanding that they provide evidence or be wrong by default, isn't fair play. Anyone can voluntarily accept the burden of proof for their own position; and if nobody does that, then no one is right by default, we just didn't get anywhere.
