Blackmailer Rework

Disclaimer!
I know Blackmailer probably doesn't need a rework but I didn't think another role should work like this and not be called Blackmailer so yeah.
Role Name: Blackmailer


Role Alignment: Mafia Support


Abilities: Choose one person each night to blackmail.


Attributes:
- Select the type of blackmail you want to use and select who you want to target during the day (more detail below).
- The blackmailed target can choose whether they want to accept the task or commit suicide (Town Protective cannot stop the suicide).
- Those who suicide will show upon death "Your target was forced to commit suicide by the Blackmailer".

Blackmail Details: When you select someone to target, you will be given a list of possible blackmails to choose from. These include a role-block (maybe shouldn't be because of Consort), silence (no speaking, voting and whispers to your target is seen the following day etc).

Roleblock:
- "You have been blackmailed! If you use your role tonight you will be killed!"
- If the target uses their role, they will die that night.
- Mediums will not be affected by this. Roles such as Psychic will have a button next to their name to choose if they want to get their vision (or another way could be used).

Silence:
- "You have been blackmailed! If you talk, vote or whisper the following day you will be killed!" (message at night)
- "You have been blackmailed! If you talk, vote or whisper today you will be killed!" (reminder during the day)
- Your target can still talk and vote but if they do even once, they will be killed by the blackmailer that night.

Goal: Same as Mafia.


Win Conditions: Same as Mafia


Special Attributes:


Investigator Results:
Sheriff - Your target is suspicious!
Investigator - Your target could be a Spy, Blackmailer, Jailor or Guardian Angel!
Consigliere - Your target uses information to silence people. They must be a Blackmailer!


Additional Information:
If somebody screams at me for having an extra mafia kill each night, it's the targets choice to die or be blackmailed. It's similar to the Ambusher where they get a kill outside of the factions 1 KPN given their name is shown to everybody visiting their target. This role gives the target the choice to be blackmailed or die.

The Silence blackmail is too easy to accidentally violate. Just have it do an enforced block if the target chooses not to die (give an explicit choice).

Same goes for the Roleblock, just have it so an actual roleblock... oh wait that's the consort. Better not to give it roleblocking powers at all, just leave that to the Consort.

Blocking votes is a no-go, as votes are actually very important (and the Town's primary power). Giving a target a choice between "lose your vote" or "die" turns a 3v2 in Town's favor into a Mafia win.

How's the base mechanic though? Like if I can think of some unique things aside from blocking votes or roleblocking, it could work? I honestly have no idea if this could work outside my thoughts since I'm biased.

The basic mechanic of making a threat and giving the player a choice is thematically appropriate for the Blackmailer, so I'm in favor of it.

It might be needless complexity though - obviously, most players will choose not to die, so why not just make that choice for them?

I think the blackmailer is very powerful, I would say that it doesn’t need to be reworked, if anything it might be useful to nerf it a littlebit. For example you only get to blackmail 3 times, just like the forger can only forge 3 times.
I’m new, don’t kill me cause it might be in your favour to kill someone else... or is it? ;)

That sounds like a buff lol, all it would do is cause some newbies to more quickly learn how to play Blackmailer.

But helping newbies learn the role is a good thing, so /support!
