Hello everyone.

I have some questions for @jammingduck and @spiderpoolcorps :

1. Do you believe random voting at the start of Day 1 is suspicious?
2. Do you believe voting a Sheriff claim is suspicious?

1. Not necessarily, but I do think it's good to turn random voting around on the first voter. After all, no one has a reason for voting first. But then voting first gives us a reason to vote them and I really don't know where I'm going with this response plshelp.

2. I mean, it's D1. That would depend on the persons info and their involvement in town. If that person hasn't been contributing much to town for say, 3/4 days(even just innocent findings or supporting others claims), then I'd say it's not suspicious to vote them.

Scum can also stay silent, fall under the radar and then pull out a useless Sheriff will when asked.
I think it's a good thing for Sheriffs to confirm innocent towns when they have the opportunity to.
Like if a person they checked is being voted up. Not just needlessly posting their innocent results daily.

Woah ok, just went back to reread the thread and we already have 3 votes on the supposed "sheriff".

Now I understand that if you were town you wouldn't straight out right claim sheriff day 1 especially without any chance to do a night action. There runs the risk of consorts, witches, and worst of all death. But is it necessary enough to drop votes on him

On second thoughts, why would you just rl someone who has barely posted anything scum worthy. Maybe i'm still new to this day 1 lynch thing but this behavior just strikes me as rather odd... Won't vote just yet but claiming sheriff day 1 is enough to arise suspicion. I'm also assuming the doc claim from someone else earlier was a joke.

After giving it some thought and given how nonsensical Day 1 can be in FM games, I'm confident the Sheriff claim was a joke.
I don't know about the Doctor claim though (lol).

Remember that we are an uninformed majority against an informed minority. We have no factual information other than what is told to us in our role cards until tomorrow, and given we won't ever see another player's rolecard until they die or the game ends, today we have to make do with reads. By 'we' I mean to say Town, because if you didn't guess already, I'm town. Though I suppose everyone is Town on Day 1...

Also, we don't know the role list so we probably shouldn't assume there is X and Y role. (I can see why other new players would think that there should be at least 1 TP, 1 TK, 1 TS and 1 TI, when that's not always the case).

While I was writing this I thought about the possibility of a Veteran bait in day 1... but I mean, I don't know if there is one, and if there is, I honestly would not be able to tell who it is given the nature of this game. The reason I thought about this possibility was because a fake claim from a Veteran in order to get an evil or two and to 'confirm' themselves would make sense given no player would know if there could be one or not.
