Hey guys.

The next game in the Standard queue was supposed to be MichaelgRook's "Treacherous Temple II", but the moderators have decided to try and get something up before the next Episode goes live.

Therefore, the next Standard will be a closed rolelist to experiment with a new Standard setup. The game is smaller than normal Standard setups.

Happy Not-Christmas! (A.K.A. Easter)

This year, there will be no eggs - only flairs. That's right - Episode XV is almost here.

Signups will go up at the date and time specified below:


Friendly reminder of the following episode-specific rules:

Spoiler:
  1. Episodes will be ran every 3 months after the last Episode ended.
  2. Episodes will reward flairs to the winners
  3. If the Moderator in charge does not believe you played to the best of your ability, you will not get a flair.
  4. All players with 3+ completed games, without replacing out, may join an Episode. However, they may join if they are in another game already. But they may not join any others once in the Episode. Check with an FM Mod if you're unsure if you qualify.
  5. Players with 10+ completed games, without replacing out, may join as if the Episode is a regular game.
  6. A player may not join an Episode if they won the previous one.
  7. A player may not join an Episode if they have replaced out, or kicked out of a game in a month.
  8. A player may not join an Episode if they have been force replaced due to inactivity in 3 months.
  9. A player may not join an Episode if they have received any official warnings in the past three months.
  10. A player may not join an Episode if they have received a temporary blacklist in the past six months.
  11. We reserve the right to remove this privilege, or deny it from you, if we feel you cannot handle it.
  12. All NFM games you play will only count as 1 game total for Episode qualifications.
    Example: You've played in 2 NFM games. That still only counts as 1 game played.

(This role is still in the experimental stages ~ It will not yet appear in Episodes for the time being.)

You are a Traitor.

Your alignment is Mafia Goon.

You cut a deal with the Godfather years ago for the promise of a high position in the Mafia if you help them take over this town. You've toiled too long in this dead-end village while waiting for their return. Now that the Mafia has finally arrived, it is time for you to assist them from the shadows.

At the start of the game the mafia are informed of your existence, but they do not know your identity.
If a mafia member dies, you may select them at night to rummage through their belongings. This will tell you who they targeted each night as well as what their night feedback was.
The Godfather hides their tracks too well so their belongings cannot be searched.
If a member of the mafia attempts to attack you, you will hide from them and the kill will fail. They will be informed that you were immune. Any other attack on you, however, will succeed.
If a Mafia Deception role targets you they will still visit you, but their action will fail and a charge will not be consumed.
If all of your allies die you will leave the town in defeat.

You win with the Mafia
You win with Survivors
You win with Witches
You must kill the Town
You must kill Arsonists
You must kill Serial Killers

ECO:
Appears as mafia to select investigatives.
If they rummage through a Mafioso's belongings and the Mafioso had previously shadowed the Godfather, then the Traitor will not be informed of what happened on the night of the shadowing.
Rummaging is like a medium action in that it is not affected by roleblocks or redirects, nor is it a visiting action. It is processed immediately and not at the end of the night and multiple dead mafia members can have their belongings rummaged in one night.
Cannot be retrained by Caporegime.

Your alignment is Town Protective

You have discovered a breed of plant capable of stopping bullets with it's roots, you had better put this to good use

During the night you may choose to plant up to 2 plants near people's houses
If a player with a plant would be attacked, they will survive, however, their plant will wilt and die, due to the nature of this new breed, any other plants not in your possession will also wilt and die, however, those you have with you will remain healthy
You have 8 plants


Plaintext explanation:
You can add up to 2 people a night to a shared ring of night immunity
This will persist until one of the people in the immunity ring is attacked, at which point the ring will break and nobody will be night immune anymore, and the next night you add people to a new ring which follows the same rules
You can only use your ability 8 times

Town wincon

ECO:
the Immunity works the same as night immunity, so anything that applies to night immunity applies here too
if a night immune player is in the ring and is attacked the immunity still fades
if a player is attacked while in the ring and is healed, the immunity fades
if multiple players in the ring are attacked at once, the ring fades and all survive
protection from Marshal/Bodyguard takes priority over the immunity

A new Patch for Forum Mafia is now out!

This patch includes the additions, tinkerings, and overhauls of existing/new roles!

Everything included in this patch is available for view and accessibility in the "Experimental Roles" section of the Rolecards thread.

You are not forced to use new versions of roles that have been added/changed in this patch, but it's encouraged that you at least attempt to experiment!

We want to hear you feedback as well! Discuss this in either FM Discussions or the Discord!

If you notice any oddities or issues with the roles regarding interactions with other roles/mechanics or lack of information, be sure to notify me!





PATCH NOTES



New Additions:


  • Botanist has been added to the [Experimental Rolelist] in the rolecards thread.
  • Tracker has been added to the [Experimental Rolelist] in the rolecards thread.
  • Parity Cop has been added to the [Experimental Rolelist] in the rolecards thread.
  • Traitor has been added to the [Experimental Rolelist] in the rolecards thread, along with a new alignment known as "Mafia Espionage", suited for roles like Traitor.
  • Strongman has been added to the [Experimental Rolelist] in the rolecards thread.



Tinkerings:

  • Veteran has received the following changes:
    • You may go on alert an infinite amount of times, but you cannot alert two nights in a row.
  • Transporter has received the following changes:
    • Your transports will give no notifications or feedback to the targets.
    • You cannot use your ability two nights in a row.
  • Marshal has received the following changes:
    • You are immune to any disruptive abilities while you are using your ability. These include roleblocks, redirections, and transports.



Overhauls

  • Lookout has received a complete overhaul of its abilities, listed here:
    • You may watch one person each night.
    • The first night that you use your ability, you must choose whether to use your Eyes or your Ears.
    • Using your ears will inform you of how many people visited your target, but not who they are.
    • Using your eyes will inform you of what type of actions were used against your target, but not how many or who performed them.
    • Once you choose which action to do first, you will have to alternate between them for the following nights (i.e choosing Eyes on N1 will force you to use Ears on N2 and Eyes again on N3, and so on).
  • Types of abilities that will show to Lookout:
    • Disruption (roleblocks, transports, and redirections)
    • Investigative (abilities from Town Investigatives, Consig charges, and Mafia Deception abilities)
    • Protective (Any protective abilities, will also appear if the target has night immunity and was attacked)
    • Killing (Any ability that results in the death of the target)


  • Enforcer has received a complete overhaul of its abilities, listed here:
    • Pre-game, you will be given the names of your allies and the possible roles they can be. You can choose which role goes to which player.
    • During the night, you may swap the roles of two allies, including yourself, so long as they consent. You may do this 3 times.
    • This action is unstoppable and will not roleblock the targets, but you will show up to Lookout/Tracker reports.
