TG Episode I | Game Over [Mafia Wins!]

Test roles that have been suggested in simulated gameplay.

TG Episode I | Game Over [Mafia Wins!]

Postby Ralozey » Wed Aug 02, 2017 2:54 pm

Testing Grounds Episode I

  1. Inactivity: If a player hasn't posted in the thread within 24 hours, I will prod them for inactivity. If they do not respond to the prod within 12 hours of it being sent, they will be replaced. Receiving two prods will result in an automatic replacement. Posts must be productive to the game and anything else will be seen as prod dodging and will not reset the prod timer.
  2. Be Respectful: I will not tolerate any homophobic, racist, sexist, or any otherwise discriminatory behavior. Any type of behavior like this will be punished by being forcibly replaced. Remember that this is a game and if you feel that you're too on edge, take a break from it. I will step in and ask people to calm down if it starts getting too heated. So please, refrain from personal attacks.
  3. Gamethrowing: Any attempt to intentionally make your faction lose the game will result in being blacklisted from future games. This includes shooting a revealed Mayor as a Vigilante or executing a confirmed Town member as a Jailor. All your actions must be done with the goal of winning as your faction and have a clear, logical explanation for your actions. This can include Jesting.
  4. Spam: Do not post multiple times in a row if it can be avoided. It detracts from the game and makes it harder for people to catch up. Use quotes and spoilers to make one large post instead of many small ones as well as using the preview function to look at your post before posting it. I will spoiler excessively long posts at my own discretion.
  5. No Outside Communication: Do not use outside methods of communication to disclose your role or any other similar information about this game to another player. Dead players may only speak to dead players, with a Medium using their night action being the only exception to this rule. Breaking this rule will result in being blacklisted from future games.
  6. Last Wills, Deathnotes, and Night Actions: Be sure to label all PMs to me accordingly or you risk the chance that I'll miss the PM and not process whatever you wanted done. The proper way to label them is:
    |
    "TG Episode I Night Action"
    |
Last wills and Death Notes can be sent in via PM at the beginning of each night.
You cannot change your Will/Note after you sent it in for that night. The proper way to label them is:
    |
"TG Episode I Last Will" or "TG Episode I Death Note"
    |
  7. Whispers: There will be no whispers this game.
  8. Post Editing: Post editing is not allowed and will be, if found out, punished with a suspension from the game.
  9. Flavor: Flavor should not be used to infer anything or support arguments as it is as the title implies, flavor text.
  10. Fun: The most important rule is to have fun because this is a game and shouldn't be treated as anything aside from that.

There is no trials. It's courtesy to let the person speak before we hammer them.

The benefits are simple

-If its Town, we can see who was pushing the lynch the hardest and get a TI on them.
-If its Scum, any doubters are than suspicious.
-If its Mafia, any one hardpushing or doubting it is suspicious.

It's a win-win.

The benefit is that you get information from scum wagon and such, so let's say a Citizen dies it's most probable that the last vote (which btw is called a hammer) is going to be a member of the Mafia to guarantee a Town lynch. Also generally a fast paced wagon with sheeping votes (as in the people that vote don't explain why they are voting for them and using other people's views as their own) is Mafia oriented, and Neutrals mainly sheep wagons more fyi

It'll all become clear throughout, it's easy to get the gist of it

It doesn't matter if it's a successful or unsuccessful lynch though, a lynch is massively better than a no lynch

Just. Don't go lynching someone who happens to have a lot of votes on them, because if I'm right there's no trials in this game.

Wait

@Ralozey Are there trials?

And gotta say, while this can be a good method to follow and would at least get you going in the right direction, I feel like it is kind've easy to manipulate. Like a mafia member could just bandwagon a little bit, maybe add a little bit. As long as he isn't too forceful or not forceful enough to warrant a guilty vote, then he'd get away with it.

However that means he couldn't be forcefully pushing a town in the first place, so it's still a positive.

It helps confirm towns btw. Town-reads. Kinda not needed since we have alot of Power roles (Not the alignment)

And evils can't appear to read? Or falsely accuse townies knwoing very well they are good, but for a very good scumreading support to it? Sometimes I feel like FM sometimes forgets that you can't be informed without properly having night results to give you answers, all scumreading does is assume, and assumptions can be false! ;)

Postby BS4125 » Wed Aug 02, 2017 4:46 pm

Ok, here are the things that need to be resolved before Day 1 ends:

1) Hypoclaims (when you realise there are wills in the game smh), we could do it as a security measure for if there's a Janitor, Forger, Clerk or Undertaker which can potentially disallow us to gain any information. Essentially what hypoclaims are is where everyone (in a perfect scenario) give fake information for what they found for each Town Investigative in the game, however the actual Town Investigative(s) in the game supply their real result amongst the other fake results so when they die (and potentially get their will removed) then we can see what role they are and look back to the hypoclaim they've sent and each result from what role they are is true and revealed. This can be good, however can unfortunately lead to scum getting information if they know who the Town Investigative's are

2) General discussion about some roles: I mean because I've never played with these roles I don't know what could he discussed, but we can go through strategies of working against some possible roles like Electrician and Arsonist and how to get round them, this isn't to strategise but more so to create conflict as conflict between people can uncover information down the road

3) Basic scumreads on people: We eventually will have to side who's going to be hung at the stand, I'd say until everyone has communicated (or mostly everyone) we can resent from doing so as you don't want to waste time, also I don't mean giant paragraphed reads or anything, just some small bracket reads on what you feel about people and who would be the best to lynch at the end of this day

It's funny, literally everything controversial has been sucked out which is usually in FM lmao

We get a generalization. WE have a group A and B. Group A is the ones who pushed for the lynch, B is the group that was reluctant. Based on their future actions, we can determine if they're scum easily

Anyone who does not fit into those groups is either a Town or a passive Evil.

Also good post BS4. I've only had one FM game, but the first Day of it, before me and a BG both town-read someone, was fun and taught me a lot of good ways to read.

And evils can't appear to read? Or falsely accuse townies knwoing very well they are good, but for a very good scumreading support to it? Sometimes I feel like FM sometimes forgets that you can't be informed without properly having night results to give you answers, all scumreading does is assume, and assumptions can be false! ;)

Assumptions are better than rolling a dice
Hey I rolled a 6 let's lynch Gooose

But yes, nothing is confirmed about someone unless they die, but actions like hammering a wagon where who was hung was Town, or two people claiming a role which can only fit into one sub-alignment which there is one of, or an argument that looks like TvS (Town versus Scum) really narrow down who can be scumnor not

You must be a senser tbh, people who are sensers only support 100% confirmation rather than reading between the lines
