Taxidermist (Neutral Killing)

Role Name: Taxidermist
Role Alignment: Neutral Killing

Special Attributes:
Bite Immune
Detection Immune

Attack: Basic
Defense: Basic

Abilities:
  • Kill your target and stuff their body.

Attributes:
  • You cannot kill the night after a successful kill.
  • A stuffed body will still appear as living and will affect the vote count.


Goal: Reduce your enemies to empty shells.

Wins with:
Survivors
Witches
Stuffed players
Coven roles that win with everybody

Investigative Results:
Taxidermist-
Investigator: Your target works with dead bodies. They could be a Medium, Janitor, Taxidermist, Retributionist, or Necromancer (I hate this.)
Sheriff: Your target is not suspicious.
Witchsigliere: Your target can make the dead look alive. He must be a Taxidermist.

Stuffed Body-
All TIs: Your target's body crumbled when you touched it. He must have been stuffed by a Taxidermist!


Messages:
"You have decided to stuff ____ tonight."
"We found ____ dead in their home last night. He was revealed to have been stuffed by a Taxidermist.

Achievements:
Win 1/5/10/25 games...

Human Taxidermist: Stuff your first victim
No Trace: Win without any stuffed players left
Mayor Plays: Get lynched with more than half the town stuffed.
Double Silence: Stuff a blackmailed victim
Discovered: Stuff the Mafioso

Additional info:
Stuffed players will still show up in the day and in night chats. When they die , their will and role will not change.
Stuffed players can see dead chat, but can not interact with the dead or each other until after their body crumbles. (Unsure about this point.)
Stuffed players cannot be revived by a Retributionist until after their body crumbles.
When a stuffed player is visited by an Town Investigative role, the stuffed body will crumble and "die". (Should TS roles count too?)
Stuffed bodies will continue to exist after the Taxidermist dies.
Vigilantes and Jailors will have their usual consequences when shooting a stuffed player.
If a stuffed player leaves the game, the chat will not show this, and the body will not commit suicide.
If there are 2 living (non-stuffed) players left, then the stalemate detector will automatically come into play.
Taxidermist wins against GF, and loses against Arso and WW. Interaction with SK will depend on winrates if implemented, but I would start it as a win.
When a Mafioso serving as the only Mafia Killing role is stuffed, another Mafia member will be promoted. The Mafia will be aware of this.
A Taxidermist's death note will only show up upon a TI visiting a stuffed player.

So an SK...who kills his targets then keeps their bodies which is extremely op later game as if the stuffed bodies are still standing no-one can be lynched as the dead bodies seem like afk people, only good thing about this is that no-one will know this NK exists until a stuffed puppet is found

Yeah, the voting should be changed! Or at least make a way to ignore the dead, like if a TI visits them, they die or something. Otherwise too op!

I think that's a good idea. If someone is visited then they get revealed as a stuffed body and die.

RN you really cant make it less SK-like but yes that is better if the stuffed body is visited they die and are revealed.

So the question is? How can we make this less serial killer like? That's basically the question for every nk role, how to make it less like a nk we already have. I think the obvious is that if he is able to stuff the bodies then he is more op then the sk, so now we need to debuff his killing rate. Easy response, wont kill when roleblocked/jailed, but not enough.

But killing a RBer or Jailor is more of a nerf to SK, and it'll be another buff if that's removed. (To be honest, I never had this anyway, though.) I think the best solution (in terms of not making it SK-like) is a kill every other night, but that limits him to 4 or 5 kills in a game. Requires significant luck at finding who won't be killed. (Also people start trying to tear it apart since I'm "merging" SK and WW)

If it's killing every other night it will only get 3-4, and that is too slow if you ask me.

To begin with, I don't think a NK is allowed to be detection immune, even WW is found on full moon.

As of nerfing the role, it already doesn't attack jailor or escort, in addition maybe he can't stuff mafia members and evil? Or perhaps, he isn't night immune, instead he uses a stuffed body as a shield, if he has non he dies?

I like that idea, but how would that play out? Mafioso attacks him and he comes up as immune and a stuffed body dies. Then they out him theough death note or something, or try to milk an investigator/vig claim out of it. Either way he would get outed if he was attacked. The best he would have is an exe claim but it would be too consequential that he would get lynched anyways.

First of all, the op already chose it to be immune.
You get a message if your target was immune right? Then just don't show that message, because instead of being immune, it used a meat shield.

So it could work like as if you were healed?

Like that's the problem. I attack you, you no die, stuffed body is founded, you done taxidermist. Same thing if it is night immune but the stuffed body means that you cant do a healed claim(which you usually cant anyways), or no immune claim. I guess this could be the way of being detectable though...

PS. If u still decide to implement the meat shield, then: the oldest stuffed body dies/gets sacrificed. (So people don't think its chosen randomly)

i think it should have night immunity and the disguiser idea, so if it gets attacked but there are no puppets (ill call them puppets for now) then it just simply says "target immune"
