Beggar role idea Please tell me what you of it.


Beggar town support

Summary- a poor man who goes to houses for items

Abilities
May visit one person every other night

Attributes
-If he visits a town killing/neutral killing/mafia killing role he will get a bullet
-If he visits a town protective/neutral benign role he will get a vest
-If he visits a town support/mafia support/neutral evil/mafia deception/neutral chaos role he will get a roleblock
-If he visits a town investigative role he will get a book of results that he can use to get whatever results they get.
-You may use your item in between nights
-Targets will know if they are visited by a beggar

Goal:lynch all criminals and evil doers

Spoiler: . The beggar had always been poor. As a child, he was brought up into poverty, scrambling around in the back alleys of a small town in the mountains. His parents struggled, and eventually they were taken notice of by the town, and a kindly medium decided to take them in. Unfortunately, the very next night, as they were sitting down to eat their supper, a werewolf broke down the front door. The beast tore apart the beggar's mother, father, and last, the medium who took pity on the scum of the town and housed them. The child managed to scramble out of the door, but now he was even worse off. Orphaned, with no-one to help, and although he had escaped the werewolf, it now had his scent, and was angry and being outwitted by a child. Imagine that!

Out of fear, he left his home-town, and travelled down the mountains to a village called Salem. With nothing else to do, no other way to get food or drink, he began to beg. In the streets more important things were going on, so no-one took notice of the scraggy child. As he grew older, they began to put him down, taking notice but not helping. His begging in the streets was clearly being ignored, if not being noticed in the worst possible way.

One night he decided to try a different tactic. It was late, so everyone would be home. This was good, as what he was going to do was generally frowned upon. He begged from a towns-person, straight from their door, who gave him a gun out of pity. The person could only spare one bullet, so the beggar had to make it count...

if you're Vigilante/BG and you give one of your bullets/Vest to the Beggar. will you lose that one bullet/vest or nothing change?
and if it does,then this role doesn't help much for town

I am currently thinking about that. probably NOT but i am taking suggestions. I also want suggestions on investigative results I am not a big fan of it.

I like this idea honestly and I think the begger as town support is a great idea. I think when he visits the people to get something they should be notified but certain roles five him things. So like visiting a survivor you get a vest. If you visit a doctor you get a first aid kit to use on yourelf or someone else

I think it is extremely UP because its ability only works if a vigilante, survivor, or bodyguard is around, so it is role-dependent (it's basically useless if those roles aren't in a game).

As it is now, this role wouldn't really work.

I'm not big on this role, as a vest or gun in most cases won't affect the game that much.

well I can make some changes, like tazmainian said Docter could give him a first aid kit or something like that. think of him as a town sided amnesiac.

The power of this role isn't in its potential single-use gun or vest, but rather its capacity for role discovery.

It can confirm a BG, vig or surv claim, all of which are common scum claims. It can also detect the SK and WW, albeit at the cost of its life. This is valuable, but is more of a TI role than a TS one.

funny I was about to say that. Good observation. However it is in TS because it can kill and vest and detect like you said not just 1 of them

Id say yah make it a town protective since it protects town (if it visits the doctor) and make it unique. Because if there is a confirmed doc, having the beggars al visit them would be too OP.

This is just a suggestion but rather than visiting someone every night, I think he can only visit once every two nights (like ww or vamp bites etc) if he successfully takes something, he has to use it before visiting someone else if that makes sense?

I see why you want to make it town protective but here is why it is ts. For one it can also shoot (if he has a Gun) 2 he can uncover roles like pyrothen said it can confirm vigilantes survivors and bus and can find SK/WW at the cost of its life. I do not remember talking about a docter. And by the way it can visit 2 times per game. Thanks for your opinion.

The doctor was just and example and yeah I see how I would be town support, it's similar to the escort (just for the sk/ww) and it isn't too OP for the town. Yeah it can also confirm survivor etc but the role can be a good mafia claim to help a mafia buddie out of a sticky situation.

that's another thing I was going to get too. I don't want this role to be a self revealing role. So I still want investigative results suggestions. I don't like the ones I have now.

For the investigator results you need a good mix of evil and good olea so its hard the confirm your role easily.

Investigator: Your target is waiting for the perfect opportunity. They could be Sheriff, Executioner, Werewolf or Beggar. There are two good roles here and an attacked ww or exe can claim to have taken a vest from a survivor or a bg making it hard to confirm because the bg wont out themselves like that

Sheriff: NS because townie

Consigliere: Consig normally gets more information and knows the exact role. Your target borrows things from helpful people. They must be a beggar

1. Make it a result that is actually in the game
2. You need an even number of good and bad claims so town isn't lynched off the bat
3. The Godfather isn't an outcast anyway

Why can't this role mess up?

I mean, an Escort could accidently block the Investigator, the Doctor could heal an Exe, a Vigilante can kill a Townie, why can't this role do the same?

Like, if he visit a Janitor, the Janitor will get an extra cleaning. A Disguiser an extra Disguise, etc.

This is just my personal opinion, though.
