Tactical Mafia Kills

There will be a mafia button that appears during the night for every mafia member except for the Godfather:

If you click this button during the night, your current night action will be changed to a kill. Once someone has chosen to kill, it is unclickable for the other mafia members unless they click the button again.

The factional kill can be roleblocked, even if the role performing it is normally roleblock immune. (i.e. consort can be roleblocked while killing, but not while roleblocking)

Mafioso also becomes it's FM Variant:

Spoiler: Each night you may choose 1 member of the Mafia to shadow. You will carry out their job that night on any target you wish.
You may only do this once per player in the Mafia.
Shadowing a Mafia Head role only grants you their specific passive(s). Night immunity is not applicable.
If a member of the Mafia dies you may permanently assume that role if you wish at any time.
You can communicate with your allies each night, for as long as they are alive.


Ambusher is unfortunately reworked or replaced, as mafia tactical can only function well if one person kills per night.

YEEEESSS, I have been wanting to remove the mafioso, and let every mafia member kill for a while.

We can't just remove the Mafioso. Disguiser's already being removed*, and removing Mafioso will just cause imbalance.

Just replace it with something else, and rework the ability to match. Maybe FM's mafioso would work?

*P-EDIT: This post, made in 2016, was made in the context of a different time. Back then, Disguiser was an entirely different role that was going to be removed, one that could "switch positions" with the mafia kill and impersonate them. Due to last wills outing this role, it was put on the chopping block before it was replaced with what Disguiser is now. The current Disguiser, as far as I'm aware, is not going to be removed.

I support this change, but I do not think that a role should be removed. If they do remove Mafioso, which I support, it should be replaced with another mafia role, such as the Watcher. /support

Nobody kills then. Same as if there is no Mafioso and the GF is jailed.

The GF kills if no one chooses the button.

If the GF is jailed, someone's gonna have to choose the button or else no kill will occur.
Factional balance - understanding that whisper games are bad because they cause Town to win a disproportionate amount

Strategical balance - understanding that whisper games are bad because there's no reason to use any other strategy

Structural balance - understanding that disabling the Mayor's whispers, despite it fixing whisper games, means that a player can't use a core mechanic of the game and is still bad

We'd have to give the Mafioso a night action, but it's good.

Also, recommendation:

If the GF dies without picking a new Godfather, people get to hit a GF button?

I like it. I imagine it will give out a notification in the Mafia chat whenever a member chooses to make the kill instead.

And Mafioso could become like how it is in FM where is completes the action for another member, or we could replace with a whole other role entirely

What?

No, that's not how it works. Once the GF dies, he doesn't come back unless Mafioso becomes FM Mafioso or Amneisac gets buffed to remember unique Mafia roles assuming a non-unique Mafia role hasn't died yet.

The GF, upon death, stays dead. The Mafia now MUST sacrifice an action to kill.

I know it sounds bad on paper but this is a pretty big buff. (._. )

Disguiser is not being removed, he is getting some more power(which is currently vital, as you can easily spot them through the wills), by changing the way wills appear. I don't really remember how but you can check on the announcements.
