Magician (Town/Support)

A brief summary for the lazy Spoiler: Select 2 people at night. The dead person takes the body of the live person for one day.
Role Name: Magician
A magic person who tries to revive the dead by giving them a new host.

Role Alignment: Town/Support

Attributes: You can cast a spell only once.

Abilities: When you cast a spell, select one dead townie and one live person.
The dead person takes the body of the live person for one day.
When revived, the new host will know the role of the old host.
The old host will talk with the dead for the day before returning to his body.

Goal: Standard town

Special Attributes: None

Investigative Results: Witch, Magician, Retributionist

Strategies involving this role. Spoiler: This can be both a Town/killing or a Town/Investigative.
However, people might lie about being revived to get themselves lynched or have themselves appear safe.
Reviving a spy can be a huge game changer!

Reasons why it's not OP Spoiler: The Town/Killing part of this can only be done during the day, and people might become extremely suspicious of Jester.
The Town/Investigative part of this role can't be trusted either.
If you revive an AFK dead person, you're kinda screwed.


Why it's not a nerfed ret Spoiler: It acts more like a one time consiglier that also brings info from the dead.
It's basically a buffed medium seance.

Retributionist is much more powerful. Confirms Town, and doesn't kill a teammate.

This role kills a teammate for a single day. And it's not no matter what a teammate.

This is a very underpowered version of the Retributionist. I think you should buff it by making it an unlimited use ability and letting its dead target speak through its living target, but the living target can also talk normally.

Comments so far:
this is NOT a underpowered version of the ret. This grants the ability of the medium to 2 people (the dead, and the one who you swapped with) + allows you to find an evil/mafia character. effectively ratting them out. Of-course if you take over a mafia, you should not be able to see the rest of the mafia. same for vampires.

I already know a few tactics to know 100% certain whether the dead person is truly who they say they are. But are still hard to execute. So I find this decently balanced. (basically the jailor needs to give out passwords to people he jails. When they die, medium can use these passwords to prove himself. Same goes for this dead person that gets revived. (I tend to use things like ([player number]+3)*2 ).

In general, I like this role... it sounds really fun. and I don't easily say that from a character design ^^

question:
What happens with characters that have day abilities? Like the mayor or jailor?
Does the dead character have the ability to use their day ability?

Does the dead character see the person's will?
Does the dead character see the exe's target?

This would fuck up Trials. We don't need a bunch of gamethrowing reports because someone got switched in Mafia and ratted everyone out.

No. The switched person who was Town could say: "I'm Blackmailer." and get the Mafia member lynched, but to everyone else, he was gamethrowing.

1-The dead people are technically now the role of the person they became the host of. So if Magician targeted a Mayor, the person who became mayor can reveal himself.
2-Not if they were the Jailor or Mayor.

3-No, only their own.
4-Yes, they do.
