Couple things I feel that I should mention before the game begins:
1. Double Roles (2 of the same role) and Random Roles
Generally speaking, double roles will not be permitted, and should the numbers result in one, the role shall be redrawn.
The exception to this are the random general roles (Random Town, Random Mafia, Random Neutral, Any)
Double Roles obtained from any of those slots will be permitted.
Also note that the Random Town may be a Citizen, and Citizen has double weight over any other class.
(Each possible role was given one number in a random number generator, while Citizen was given two numbers)
2. The Medium
There may or may not be a Medium in the next game, but just in case there is, I want to make the rules 100% clear so there is no confusion as to how it works as the role card is not exactly the most descriptive as I tried to keep it within the Town of Salem context without breaking the 4th wall too much.
Medium Rules:
-During the day (BEFORE a majority vote is obtained, be it for a lynch or NoLynch), you must PM me 3 specific questions and the dead player to whom you are asking the questions.
-You may change your mind any time during the day.
-You may not ask questions of someone who was lynched that day.
-The questions must be specific; they must be yes or no questions or have a specific answer, such as a name or a role.
-You may not ask a question that encourages gamethrowing in any way ("Who else is Mafia?" will NOT be accepted and should you ask that, it will not be sent through to the dead player)
-Answers to the questions must be no longer than 10 words long per question
-You may ask a player for his role (if he was Cleaned)
-You may not ask general questions such as ("Any leads?" or "Anyone you find suspicious?")
-However, you may ask a dead investigative role questions like ("Was anyone found to be suspicious or potential Mafia members from your investigations?")
-If you send me a question that is not allowed, I will reply saying that this question is not legal and ask for a replacement question
-You will get your answers as the day begins
-Dead players do not need to be truthful
3. Alignments
Alignments are the same as in Town of Salem.
For those of you who do not know the exact alignments, here is a list:
Sheriff - Town Investigative
Lookout - Town Investigative
Investigator - Town Investigative
Veteran - Town Killing
Vigilante - Town Killing
Doctor - Town Protective
Bodyguard - Town Protective
Escort - Town Support
Medium - Town Support
Transporter - Town Support
Mayor - Town Power
Retributionist - Town Power
Godfather - Mafia Killing
Mafioso - Mafia Killing
Consigliere - Mafia Support
Consort - Mafia Support
Janitor - Mafia Deception
Framer - Mafia Deception
Serial Killer - Netral Killing
Arsonist - Neutral Killing
Executioner - Neutral Evil
Jester - Neutral Evil
Witch - Neutral Evil
Survivor - Neutral Benign
Amnesiac - Neutral Benign
4. Unique Roles and the Amnesiac
As in Town of Salem, the Amnesiac may not become a Unique Role.
The Unique Roles are as follows:
Mayor
Retributionst
Godfather
Mafioso
Transporter
Witch
Amnesiac
Note that Transporter and Witch are not unique in Town of Salem, but I have made them unique for Forum Mafia for practical reasons.
Transporter - what if two transporters move the same player one night? Then things just get messy...
Witch - What if two witches control the same player one night? Again, its messy...
Amnesiac is unique because two amnesiacs makes it possible for 6 Mafia, and I do not want a situation like that - 4 with one possible extra from a potential Amnesiac is enough.
Also I do not want an Amnesiac to remember that they were an Amnesiac.
5. Whispering
I know I mentioned Whispers a few posts above, but I want to summarize really quickly for anyone using just this post as a reference for the different rules in Game B compared to Guzame's game.
Maximum 5 whispers per player per day (1 day = 120 hours)
Maximum 200 characters per whisper (I won't be counting, but if something is really long I will ask you to shorten it)
6. Last Wills and Deathnotes
Last Wills - you may leave a last will, but you must PM me with your last will during the night before day begins - you may update it at any time.
Last Wills have a strict 300 character limit.
Deathnotes - Killing roles may leave a deathnote (Unlike in Town of Salem, the Veteran will be permitted to leave a deathnote if he wishes)
Deathnotes may be as long as you wish, but please don't make it too long. If I find a deathnote to bee too long I will ask you to shorten it.
Any Last Wills or Deathnotes that include gamethrowing statements will be removed and will get you blacklisted from future games
Gamethrowing statements are determined by me.
Example of a gamethrowing deathnote:
A, B and C are fellow Mafia members.
Note that everything is in context - some statements may be considered a strategy.
Note that signing a deathnote is NOT gamethrowing, even if you are signing your own name - that is a deception strategy (it is unorthodox and I do not recommend it, but you can do so if you wish)
Also, saying [player] is night immune on a deathnote is NOT gamethrowing - it is simply trying to help your team win.
7. Possible Investigator Results:
Most of the results are the same as in Town of Salem, with a few changes to role groupings.
The new role groupings are as follows:
-Citizen
-Mayor / Godfather
-Veteran / Mafioso
-Doctor / Serial Killer
-Lookout / BodyGuard
-Medium / Janitor
-Executioner / Jester
-Sheriff / Vigilante
-Investigator / Consigliere
-Framer
-Transporter / Arsonist
-Survivor / Amnesiac
-Escort / Consort
-Retributionist / Witch
All possible results are as follows:
Your target has no particularities about him, and you cannot determine a specific role. You deduce that he is just an ordinary Citizen.
Your target is a leader among men. He is either the Mayor or the Godfather.
Your target owns weapons. He is a Veteran or a Mafioso.
Your target works with knives. He is either a Doctor or a Serial Killer.
Your target is a protector. You note that he is a Lookout or a BodyGuard.
Your target works with dead people. He is a Medium or a Janitor.
Your target is obsessed with lynchings. You realize that he must be an Executioner or a Jester.
Your target seeks justice. He is a Sheriff or a Vigilante.
Your target gathers information. He is therefore an Investigator or a Consigliere.
Your target is good at forging documents. He must be a Framer!
Your target smells like gas. He must be a Transporter or an Arsonist.
Your target is a loner. You realize that he is a Survivor or an Amnesiac.
Your target enjoys distracting people. He must be an Escort or a Consort.
Your target practices dark magic. You deduce that he is therefore a Retributionist or a Witch.
