Fake Last Will Generator V2.2 (HUGE UPDATE) Add info + more!

With Version 2.2, there are a bunch of new updates to make the Fake Last Will Generator more useful AND more believable!
  • Save Last Wills! You can now generate a last will for other roleclaims without losing the last wills you've already created!
  • Update Last Wills! You can now add more nights to a last will without regenerating a will from scratch! It keeps the previous nights, and adds on more nights!
  • Add real information! In order to make your fake last will more believable, you can now add information for most of the roles! This gives you an organized way to jot down believable roleclaim info without having to hand-write 5 last wills! The computer stores all of the information for you, then inputs it into a generated last will!
  • Enter names by typing the "Enter" key! Saves time, if you don't want to have to click the Enter button.

Just download and run. It is a java application.

Download the .jar file by clicking here.

Version 2 Demo Video:
(Note: As of Version 2.1, you may now enter names by typing the "Enter" key. This speeds up the process of entering names.)

Update 1: Added Investigator and Transporter as possible role claims. Bug fixes.
Update 2: Created a .jar file.
Update 3: Added virustotal.com scan, so people can check to make sure that I did NOT upload a virus that could harm their computer.
Update 4: Added new demo video.
Update 5: Resized the "reset" button.
Update 6: Version 2 released! Added will saving! Added will updating! Added the ability to add information! Added Jailor as a possible role claim!
Update 7: Version 2.1 released! Enter names by typing the "Enter" key! Fixed various bugs, including fixing the "reset" button and the Lookout's last will glitch.
Update 8: Version 2.2 released! Adds a "Directions" button. *Hopefully* fixes any Java exception errors.

Please tell me if you find any bugs, I will do my best to add support.

The second demand for Input.

Just download the update, it's a GUI now and it's all fairly self explanatory now.

On Mac/Linux, put the code in a file named FakeWillGenerator.java, then go into that directory and run in terminal:
Code: Select all
javac -sourcepath . FakeWillGenerator.java && java FakeWillGenerator

Cool stuff, tested it with you. Lazy players can utilize this very well when evil.

You seem to know a thing or two about this kind of stuff, is there a way to make this easier for people to use by like putting it on a website or something?

I swear I posted that... not sure where it went.

You'd need a GUI if you wanted to put it on a website. I know almost nothing about coding in Java, all I know is from working with Coolway99 on his Java project. From the looks of his code, you'd have to extend javax.swing.JFrame, and if you wanted a text pane you would want to make a javax.swing.JTextPane. His code is here. Once you had java code that displayed a GUI, it would be fairly easy to get onto a website, just add the code to a GitHub repository and use Travis-CI to build a .jar file on every commit.

Or if you could find a Java terminal emulator in Javascript you could use that... *begins googling*

(Side note - you were one of the first people I played ToS with... I still remember you from way back when :D)

I took your advice, and I created a GUI for my project.
It can be found in the OP.

Not trying to be negative... but I assume this is all randomly generated?

Yea, anyone who will be using this will have a bad time. Fake Last Wills are supposed to be believable - for that reason, you should try to read people, figure out who is who, and only include visits to people who could trully be affected.

Furthermore, you should always take advantage of real Last Wills that are already in the graveyard. Putting down random stuff will not help you much in defense, unless you are playing against complete amateurs.

Yeah, no offense, but let's pretend you're making a fake last will by hand. Let's pretend, you're going to fake being a TI. As soon as two TIs are dead (or, for that matter, two TIs are proven), your fake last will is useless. This goes for every fake last will too.

The point of the generator is that if you need a somewhat believable claim on the spot, you get the format for it instantly. A few quick edits is all that it takes to make it believable. Obviously, you are supposed to edit the last wills by hand to make it believable.
But if your fake last will you made by hand isn't even possible (for example the Veteran is known, the TP is dead, etc.), then you're f***ed. This works in a pinch, and could give you another night if you use it properly.

EDIT: Putting down random stuff is better than putting down nothing.

Oooooooh, I see! You are one of those people who make one fake last will... well now than I guess yea, you could use something like that.

Personally, from Day 1, as a scum I always start instantly working on 3 believeable fake wills, and if either one of those claim spots is compromised, I discard that Last will. That way I am always prepared as best as a person can be.

thats terrible, you would go off what happens in the game. This is more of a hindrance.

1. Sometimes 3 still isn't enough.
2. There is not enough room in the will provided in-game for 3 last wills for even 3 nights, unless you're using a separate program.
3. What happens if you can't claim any of your 3 wills?

4. The point of the generator is to give you options.

Haha, this one may be useful later on, but I rather for a challenge by myself than to use such generator, unless dire situations :P

This is pretty helpful when I'm in a tight pinch and/or my other role claim is impossible. Thanks for taking the time to make this!

Good start but the style of the will is easily distinguishable.
Unless it has different styles that are picked randomly (and/or have more random variables such as . or no . at end of some results), it will be easy to remember that this type of will is fake generated.

Typically, this is the format of my last will anyways (whether I'm evil or good). I mean you could also change the format manually if you have enough time to (after you generate a will).

Hmm, I'm not getting that issue. Is the Java exception triggered immediately when you run the program, or is it after you try to do something?

Would you mind sending me a screenshot?

Is this classified as cheating though?
Like I love this idea and how it works but is it against the rules to run something like this?

No?

Why would it be?
