This is why I always attack survivor claims as an evil as well. Important townies like jailor and mayor have started to catch on that evils tend to leave surv claims alone, so it's probably better to kill them in case of that. And if the survivor is real, you don't lose much since there's no guarantee that the survivor will ever side with you.

Back when Surv/Witch/WW was an Investigator result, Survivor claims were almost always lynched because Witch and Werewolf often claimed Survivor and lynching a Survivor isn't that bad. But now when I play All Any it seems like most but not all Survivors reveal on Day 1, and killing roles usually don't bother them too much. NKs often claim Survivor and sometimes even get away with it, so Surv claims do have some level of suspicion. The Mafia usually doesn't want to kill Survivor claims because they're much more likely to be Neutral than someone who claimed a Town role, which means that claiming Survivor as Amnesiac or Jailor/Mayor is a viable strategy. But if you're a TI, it's a good idea to check Survivor claims since so many roles can claim it.

So I think if you're an evil role it's best to fakeclaim a Town role, but Survivors can get away with telling the truth. If you're Jailor or Mayor and you don't want to confirm yourself it's usually safe to claim Survivor since the Mafia usually won't want to kill Surv claims.

If you're playing as Survivor you're probably in All Any and most All Any players aren't going to use this reasoning.
