questions about game throwing

Postby jaramaranam » Sun Dec 20, 2020 10:29 pm

1) is it against any rule as a jailor to make your jailee read off their abilities & attributes?

2) is it against the rules to ask for tp/lo/esc on d1/n1 as a vet, then alert?

please only answer these two questions, and provide evidence. disregard whether or not the above scenarios are skillful plays.

1.) No. (See JUROR GUIDE and TOS RULES)
2.) If the intention is to harm the Town, yes. However, they must admit to it before they can be punished. Otherwise, no. (They also must not be TT)
TOS RULES wrote:Gamethrowing occurs when a player is actively and intentionally working to harm their or their team's chances of winning.

I don't see why this would ever be against the rules. It is a bad play, however, as you can pull up the RC for any possible role by clicking the role list, so anyone can see the RC of the role that they're fake-claiming.

This is an objectively bad play, but it isn't throwing unless the Veteran admits that they're throwing. RM roles tend to visit the Jailor N1 in order to "confirm" themselves as a TP role, so it's arguable that the Veteran was trying to bait RM roles (at the expense of all of the TPs, any LOs, and any Escorts).

This is a good play if you jail someone night one- especially an evil. If I'm jailor, I would ask for their abilities to see how long it takes [a townie would just read the screen whilst the evil would have to pull up the rolecard]. I also HUGELY trust people who begin their first night in jail who say "____ the _____ N1- Jailed". This shows that they were writing their will ahead of time- as an evil, you usually spend 15 to 20 seconds night one to think of a claim.

No, but unless you are playing in classic or RP there is basically no situation where that can be close to a good strat, sure you can kill framer/consig as vet (cuz forger no longer does that) but you will probably kill 2 or 3 important townies in the way giving evils the majority at d2

First one is easy to counter as you can read role cards easily in game
Favourite Roles (To play)
Spoiler: Town: Jailor
Mafia: Consort
NE: Witch
NB: Guardian Angel
Coven: Necromancer
NC: Pirate

If you just don't say anything, that's not reportable. If you make it clear that you have no intent to defend yourself, however, that is reportable.
