The main problem with the Jailor meta is that it's boring.

It's pretty powerful though, even with an Arsonist or Werewolf.

the jailor has a higher chance of survival if they dont claim because of arso.

That is not the only point of the Jailor meta. The more important part of the Jailor meta is actually the tp/lo meta - which, er, most people don't know how to use without the Jailor claiming, even though the Jailor claiming isn't necessary at all.

Also, if the Arsonist kills the Jailor in a Lookout game, the Arsonist is outed, so there's some compensation for letting the Arsonist get the Jailor.

No one really gives a fuck if the jailor dies or not, the whole meta is designed to confirm players as townies, via a LO. It just that jailor is the optimal target for the TPs, which is why they claim day 1. (saves TPs randomly visiting) Also an outed jailor lets the vigi feel safer when hes firing at a no claimer n3.

You forget TIs like LO are just as valuable for their ability to find who is town, not just find who is evil. and confirming 2 TP, a LO and jailor on day 2 (with however many self confirming TS) puts you at a huge advantage.

OP seems to like the meta where town say nothing, and stay hidden for 4 days, until maf picks em off 1 by 1 and is 1 night away from majority, then town can guess at the evils, by sheepishly following mafs vote on majority day. Jailor meta is reliant on the fact that rng is in your favor.
If it isn't in your favor, you are screwed.

if you are a Jailor who doesn't execute players who are at least claiming 3rd RT, or exeing people town tell you to.
then you shouldn't be playing with jailor meta. Just let someone else call for TP LO, like the transporter who Moved themselves N1 because they don't wanna die or the quiet non claiming person who you think is susp but is actually the mayor of the town.

Even if you do die with 1 exe left you are more likely to have helped town identify themselves and confirming who's good and evil.

You don't need Jailor for everything, He's only there to lynch all the criminals and evildoers after all.

if you claim to not be on Jailor N1, then the Lookout has no way of confirming or denying your claim. The meta requires that all TP be on the Jailor N1, so they can be confirmed; and if you evade the meta that would confirm whether you're town or evil, well that indicates that you're evil.

I agree, it sucks, but jailor is still a fun role by themselves. Just don't follow the meta.
