I'm pretty sure all the role changes happen at the beginning of the next day rather than at the end of the night.

This means you can shoot an exe and if their target dies the same night you can still lynch them as the jester. Or you can investigate someone and find them as an Amne on the same night they remembered a role. This implies the mafioso is still the mafioso before they are promoted and would show as sus.
