Game Mechanics: The main objective of this game is to defeat the opposing hero by reducing their health to 0 (or by letting your opponent run out of cards to draw). This is done via the cards played on the field. There are three types of cards: fighters/creatures (plants/zombies), tricks, and environments.
Note: This game will only include features from Set 1(basic/premium), therefore a few mechanics and all cards from Set 2/3/4 will not be included, but balance changes for Set 1 will.(Ex: No enviroments)
***Types of cards/Hero stats***: Spoiler:Creatures: Every creature have 3 stats: Cost(sun/brain), Strength and Health. Some also have traits and abilities(will be elaborated on below) Tricks: Tricks are very versatile cards, they can be used to deal direct damage to something, making or remove fighters, change the stats of fighters, etc. Hero Stats: Each hero has 20 health, 4 superpowers, and a Super-Block Meter Superpowers: Superpowers are powerful 1-cost cards, and every Hero has 4 of them(3 based on their classes and their signature power) Super-Block Meter: https://plantsvszombies.fandom.com/wiki ... lock_Meter Note: Every card belongs to atleast 1 tribe(which builds synergy) and/or class. Example: Podfather gives other peas +2/+2 when they're played after podfather.
***Field/Board/Turns/Combat***: Spoiler:*The field/board has 5 lanes(from left to right): Heights, 3 normal lanes, and a water lane(which ONLY Amphibious plants can be placed on). EVERYTHING WORKS FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. *At the start of each match, you get 4 random cards from your deck AND a random superpower from your hero. You can choose to reroll each of the 4 cards once. *You can only have a maximum of 10 cards in your hand at any time.
*Each turn has 4 phases: Zombie plays -> Plant plays -> Zombie tricks -> Fight, and each side gets 1 extra sun/brain per turn along with drawing a card, starting at 1 sun/brain. +Zombie plays: The zombie player may choose to play zombies that they can afford that turn onto the field, but not zombie tricks. +Plant plays: The plant player may choose to play any type of cards they have in their hand, as long as it's affordable +Zombie tricks: The zombie player may choose to play tricks if they can afford it, but not normal zombies, unless if they have Teleport. +Fight: The fighters on the board attack lane by lane, from left to right. If there isn't a plant placed in the same lane with a zombie, the zombie will attack the hero instead(and vice versa).
***Card Rarity/Getting Cards/Deck Building***: Spoiler:There are 5 normal rarities: Common -> Uncommon -> Rare -> Super-Rare -> Legendary You can obtain cards by opening packs, each giving you atleast 6 cards, with atleast 1 rare. Cards will also come in pair, so you'll get 2 copies instead of 1 for each card from packs. You can only have a max of 4 copies of each card. At the start, you need to choose a starting plant and zombie hero. At the start, you will also be able to open 4 plant packs which will give you 48 total random cards for your 4 starting classes. Winning a match will let you obtain a normal pack, which can be a part of any class for both sides. In order to play, you need to make a deck with a hero you already have. Decks need to have 40 cards total, and all the cards must belong to either one of the classes of the hero you're using. You can only have 1 deck per hero at a time.
Classes: Spoiler:Both sides have 5 different classes, and every card belongs to a class(the exception being some superpowers belonging to 2 classes of the hero) Plants classes: +Mega-grow: Focuses on buffing their plants on the field, has pea synergy. +Smarty: Focuses on bouncing/freezing/amphibious plants, has bean synergy. +Kabloom: Focuses on swarming, has mushroom synergy. +Solar: Focuses on ramping(gaining alot of sun with stuff like sunflower)/healing, has flower synergy. +Guardian: I don't even know tbh, but it has nut synergy. Zombie classes +Brainy: Focuses on ramping/using tricks/drawing alot of cards, has science synergy. +Sneaky: Focuses on deadly effects/gravestones, has imp synergy. +Hearty: Focuses on being tanky i guess(?), has sports synergy. +Beastly: Focuses on buffing their zombies, has pet synergy. +Crazy: Focuses on dealing direct damage to the hero/in general, has dancing synergy.
Heroes: Spoiler:Each hero has 2 classes, and there are 20 heroes in Set 1:
Traits/Effects: (you don't really need to read it, but it's still pretty important) Spoiler:Traits(Core statuses, some traits can be edited): Amphibious - Allows a fighter to be played on an aquatic lane as well. This does not restrict availability to be played anywhere else.
Anti-Hero - Gets more strength points equal to its Anti-Hero value when there isn't an opposing fighter blocking the lane.
Armored - Reduces damage from attacks equal to its Armored value. (If a fighter with this trait is hit with, say, 1 damage, its Armored value that acts as "extra health" takes the damage instead. If a fighter with Armored 1 is hurt for 1 damage, its Armored value takes the hit. If 2 damage, the fighter only loses 1 general health.)
Bullseye - Does not charge the Super-Block Meter if a successful hit is landed on the enemy Hero.
Deadly - Automatically destroys any plant it does damage to after battling. Only zombies have this trait.
Double Strike - Does a bonus attack if this fighter survives after combat. Only plants have this trait.
Frenzy - Does a bonus attack if it destroys a plant, unless it is destroyed in combat. Only zombies have this trait.
Gravestone - Hides under a Gravestone until the Zombie Tricks phase; while hiding, they cannot be affected by most tricks or damage.
Hunt - When an opposing fighter is played in a lane, this fighter moves to the same lane that the opposing fighter is played in.
Splash Damage - Does damage to enemies next door equal to its Splash Damage value per attack, if any. Only plants have this trait.
Strikethrough - Hits all fighters on the attacking lane, as well as the opposing hero.
Team-Up - Allows a fighter to be played in front or behind another fighter, or allows another fighter to be played in front of or behind the fighter with said trait. Some cards get boosts from having Team-Up fighters. Only plants have this trait.
Effects(Abilities/Special Mechanics, can't be edited directly): Bounce - Remove the target plant/zombie and put it back into its owner's hand. It can be played again.
Conjure - Gain a random card of that kind.
Dino-Roar - Draw a card to activate this ability.
Freeze - That plant/zombie skips its next attack. Making the fighter do a bonus attack cancels out the freeze effect.
Heal - Restore health to a damaged plant/zombie or hero.
Shield - Cannot take damage in battle or from tricks. They are still vulnerable to tricks that can destroy fighters or lower Strength/Health
