It felt something. It couldn't quite name the feeling, and it was like trying to describe a color not using any visual senses, but it was a feeling that made one feel incomplete and like they had someone clenching at their heart tightly, so tightly and they would never release their stone cold grip. It didn't like this feeling. It wanted to shake it away but the feeling itself was emptiness and emptiness is in all things; it cannot be escaped, for it is all around all people. What's more, the emptiness wasn't even a regular emptiness but a new emptiness. Loss? Perhaps. A small voice told them to not surrender, but they continued to look on, and they had to continue. They couldn't hold back like this. They had to walk down this path, this road, for however long it took. They didn't know if this was a punishment for a past life of sin, but they knew they had to be doing this every single step of the way. If they gave up all their past steps would be useless, and all the steps before that, and all the steps before that. None of the steps they took would have any meaning, any purpose. So in order to make a purpose for it's life it had to go, it had to move, this was it's meaning. To walk. To move. Maybe, soon, it would find a way out of this miserable place.

Light, light, the voice of a child. It felt itself ease. Although it could not speak it welcomed the thing closer, to bask in the warm embrace of comfort, a hearth and a home. Come join me, it expressed, for I am here for you. We met eachother today but I know that you need guidance, and a light. Allow me to be your brightly illuminating red shining light to guide you through this darkness of a realm. Closer, closer, it called out now, harsher! Before the storms take you in, lest they kill you and take away whatever aspect of a physical being you had left! It was not safe here, it was much better to lounge in the comfort of not only a freind but an ally.

Come, it said, but it did not say this. It had to herd this thing forward, down the path, or else it risked being swallowed by the void. Sadly, it had no way to communicate, so it just had to register it's motions, it's movements, and choose to follow. It, under all circumstances, wanted to protect this person. It was it's child after all. But children must go out of the nest or else they shall never escape the flock, they shall never escape the pack and they shall not grow up. To be a parent is to let your child take the helm, and this child needed to take the helm, the initiative. If it were ready to, then this being was more then ready to help it. But if it weren't... well, then it was just wasting it's time trying to help it in the first place, and then this was the right response.
