Perhaps both of them know who already won. But formalities are formalities. And so, their last dinner took place.

What was it

The Sturgeon and the Phoenix began walking down the hall. One last time. They had agreed on nothing for nothing needed to be agreed upon.

"So. This is how it is, then?" the Sturgeon questioned. "It's a very dirty way to do this. Most certainly what they won't expect. You don't have to do this. We can settle it in other ways. I'd rather die than..."

The Sturgeon trails off his thoughts. After everything he'd been through, to end in such a dastardly way was frankly unbearable. Not that it would change his fate, but at least having the dignity to die his way wound be respected. The sturgeon looked at the Phoenix as if pressing for an answer. Silence came the reply.

The phoenix, meanwhile, was positively overjoyed. He knew he'd won either way. It didn't matter what he did at this point, victory was certain. His mask hid a sly smile of complete dominance, giving the illusion of humility.

Eventually, they arrived at the dining hall. Much earlier than anticipated. The Sturgeon nervously settled down, wondering what will happen next. Half-knowing, but also worried. Meanwhile, the Phoenix sat hands placed against each other like a mockery of a prayer. Behind the mask, the Phoenix's teeth was showing a brilliantly cruel smile. Any moment now. Any moment.

One second passes. Two. Then three. The world allows a forth. But then...

As the 5th second passes, a servant storms into the room with a confused and terrified expression on their face. "I'm very sorry sirs, there appears to be a-"

"WHERE THE FUCK IS THE MONSTER?!" A bellowing shout echoed through the halls, stopped everyone. Large, marble taps began sounding off from outside. The Sturgeon darts his head towards the Phoenix, expecting some sort of reply.

"W-What did you do?" The mere fish replied. "What did you show him?!"

"I DON'T CARE ABOUT STANDARDS I CARE ABOUT MY WIFE YOU FILTHY-" The hallway continued. A few shouts are heard as the staff begin to filter out of the room to both investigate and escape the situation.

"WHAT DID YOU DO?! PHOENIX!" The Sturgeon plead. Yet the Phoenix was still stubborn. Glee was his child. He couldn't wait for the rest to unfold.

The steps drew closer. A few hushed whispers cut down by the male's shouts. The Sturgeon began to sweat.

"Is he here for me?! PHOENIX WHY?!"

The Phoenix brought his hands down to the table and moved to get up. The Sturgeon watched in horror as the Phoenix began to walk to the exit of the dining room. He said nothing as he began to open the door. And just as he pulled it pry, he turned coldly to the Sturgeon, still floundering with fate. He brings a single finger to his imitated lips above his mask, and looks upon the Sturgeon for what he can guess will be the last time.

"Little fish. Our past defines our future."

And with that, the Phoenix waves nonchalantly at the Sturgeon. "Farewell, Jahia." he remarks one last time before overcoming his last obstacle.

As he moves back down the hall, he instantly spots a disgruntled commoner, red in the face with numerous staff holding him back. He's brandishing a pitchfork which has certainly seen a little blood. His face beet red, he walks past the very cause of his troubles as the Phoenix watches him enter the dining room. The staff goes to assist the Sturgeon, but the Phoenix holds his hand out straight to bar them. And then, he waits.

A few short shouts are heard from the dining hall, and a few crashes of wood. A loud, guttural scream is heard from the room as violent shouts gore blood. The phoenix closes his eyes and imagines the scene so clearly in his head; the Sturgeon's torso pierced by the pitchfork, his desperate resistance against the burly commoner, his tears from his sudden betrayal. Maybe his head is bashed against the desk a few times over, maybe the commoner gets hurt too. And there's blood. Blood and body bits. Maybe bone too.

All too sweet. All. Too. sweet.

The Sturgeon has failed to adhere to blackmail!

The staff look worryingly to the dining hall. Some goes to make pushes against the Phoenix, but he calls out to them.

"You will not. As the lord of Cradlebury Court, you will do nothing."

The staff exchange a few puzzled expression at the sudden nobility. One fair maid gets it, however. She immediately performs a curtsey before returning to her duties. One by one, the other staff members bow in recognition to their new owner and return to their duties. One by one. The Phoenix watches the executioner come out from the undercroft once again, walking towards the dining hall. I suppose he needs to clear up the commoner's mess. He gives a stern look and nod before moving on. The Phoenix returns the affirmation with glee. But before he wanted to go...

"...You there." Pointing to one particular servant. He immediately peaks at his word, as per his work.

"Get me a bottle of house wine. Deliver it to the study."

He'd have to figure out where the study was later, I suppose. Or how many studies there were.

Game went mostly well.
Made some mistakes.
Some parts of the game frustrated me from it's design, mainly from what it mentions and what it doesn't. (This is primarily caused by myself for not being specific enough)

Specific points

Knight
Big wording issues as to whether Colosseum can be used when the knight is dead. In this example the user used the Colosseum right before getting executed. Nothing against the rolecard that says otherwise, but I don't think that should happen.

Court Jester
I hate moderating for court jester. The randomised aspect of it just makes it a pain to manage from the moderators POV.

Timed phases
Worked out rather well actually. Few times I had to extend but its good that you have the luxury available to you. We didn't have any drop outs or AFKs.

Death posts
Too strong. Won't run it again. No last will either.
