Died to SK, SK was dead (Lovers Mode)

What happened?
Only opposing role alive was Pestilence, and they decided to not attack me.

I died by a serial killer who was not alive, and no one even chose to kill me.

I was just in a game, and at the end there were three of us: Pestilence, Pirate, and Doctor. The Doctor and the Pirate were lovers, and Pestilence agreed not to kill either of them to see if they could win together.
The next night came, and sure enough Pestilence kept their promise and didn't kill anyone. However the Doctor died of heartbreak, and the Pirate died to SK... There wasn't even an SK alive. This was also lovers mode, and Necromancer isn't even possible. The SK's death note even showed up, and even though the dead SK apparently killed the Pirate, it ended as a Pestilence Win.

Can this glitch somehow be fixed?

Was the Sk lynched the day before you died?
Could it be that you selected them for plundering and couldn't change in time before the day ended?

No, I panicked and selected my lover(As I had already plundered the pest the other night).
I didn't purposely select him- I just didn't want to die to the Pest and realised too late.

Lovers Mode. SK died early on. Pirate was plundering me (the Trapper), when he suddenly and inexplicably died to SK. Pest was summoned the same night, and my trap went off on the Medusa, not sure if either of those is relevant (the trap had been on the GF's house). Also not sure if relevant, but my trap had already been triggered the previous night by the Escort and Pirate (didn't grab a screenshot of this though).
