just wanted to point out things that shouldn't happen in ranked:

- dying on night 1 should not count as a loss if your faction loses, nor should it count as a victory if your faction wins. this is purely rng and does not act as a demonstration of a player's skill
- leavers should be heavily punished
- collusion is retarded

1. Is where I disagree. Even if you die night one, there is still a medium (as of the current ranked role list) and analyzing the game from the dead is essential if you are town and you want town to win. If you are Mafia, then preventing sane analysis in the graveyard should be your objective.

I agree with 2.) and 3.) though.

Ranked Beta is on PTR.

1. I believe the rankings are determined by wins and losses. I am not sure if dying N1 affects your ranking. If it does, I agree with your suggestion.
2. Already is planned. The leaving penalty for Ranked is expected to be much more harsh than leaving a Custom game.

Ranked was created to prevent cheating, thus no parties and you don't know who you are playing with.

It's a very specific type of cheating involving collaboration. In this context for example, it would be a mafia member in a Skype call with the jailor telling their town friend who the mafia are. Sometimes using prize splitting or compensation as a bribe.

1. I disagree. First there is always the medium and possible retrib who make events happening in death-world not futile. Eventually a game where you are thrown to be forced to play with others always has a freerider dimension in it. Sometimes stupid people will win with town. It will take a while until ranking can take on on how much difference you made. Especially as towny. Thats why I'm a little suspect how good ranking is actually going to be to seed out the good from the bad.

2. Most agree that they should be punished. With "heavy" we can argue. Sometimes stuff happens, you internet goes away. Or you got a call from grandma. etc. Sometimes some stuff is more important than ToS.
