Ranked change

There needs to be a way for Mayor, Ret, Trans, Escort to not all be in the same round anymore, it's beyond ridiculous. I just played a round as Ret where the jailor jailed an Invest N1 and exe'd them N2, the Doctor I revived N2 left after seeing how dumb the Jailor was and SK, Maf and Vet all killed townies that night. We still won. All RT were confirmed because we lynched the Escort, Both invests were dead and all the Maf were claiming Med even after the rezzed Doc told me there were no mediums before he left. Sure there are ways to play it that maf or SK could still win but with Ret making it 10v6 and Mayor getting 3 votes with Trans having the ability to kill Maf during the night ON TOP of having a Vet as well, it just seems ridiculous. The appeal of the whole whodunnit portion is gone because by d3 you have 4 confirmed townies, 6 if Jailor reveals and TK shoot their load to good effect. Please for the love of god find a way to make those 4 roles never feature in the same role list together in ranked.

Yes, BMG please spend time making changes so that these 1 in 300 game situations stop recurring. Every 2nd day its the same old thing. Forget working on unity port, this 1 in 300 game scenario is ruining the game

Nevermind I was playing since before ranked was a thing and the only thing we used to be able to bank on was players playing with the same name every game, this Unity swap is the only important thing, nevermind ranked is the only guaranteed place people know wtf their talking about when they play the game and there's an absolutely broken composition that does in fact ruin the game. That's most certainly not important or indicative that the ranked role-set needs a revisit or any sort of revision. Definitely not.

That is never going to happen.
RNG is never good for any strategy based game. Please learn the definition of what that means, especially if you're one of the people constantly defending it.

Yes, ranked is the only important game mode in the whole game, and only high ELO ranked players know anything about anything when it comes to TOS. Please remove all random slots so that these things stop recurring. Only then the mode will balanced for all, TS make it too difficult for mafia to win

Ranked is not the only important game mode but it is the one where the game is supposed to be as balanced as possible. And it's not "1 in 300 game situations" because that was just an (extreme) example of a much larger problem, namely multiple easily-confirmed TS as RTs.

Retri alone is imbalanced but you also have multiple combinations of TS RTs where evils simply have no claim space by d2 or d3. Mayor is insta-confirmed, Retri the same as long as a townie dies and he has a night to ress, Transporter extremely easy to confirm, med insta confirmed if there is retri and easy to confirm if there is more than 1 of them, and escort usually insta-confirmed if there is a spy. You can have several imbalanced combinations even with just 3 TS like 2 meds + retri, mayor + transpo + escort (with spy), 2 transpo and Mayor (although more than 1 transpo can confuse things sometimes), mayor + retri + med, mayor + double escort with spy, transpo + retri + med, transpo + mayor + double med etc.


I haven't kept any statistics but instances like the above are not rare (maybe 1 in 10 - 15 games?) and they usually end with evils getting steamrolled.

I don't know anything about coding but i don't think it would take that much time to change the roles (or combination of roles) allowed in Ranked (even just removing retri - although i would personally prefer it getting nerfed - would go a long way to partially fix some issues).
