I am glad they allowed people who played a game to stay. There might be a little bit more work to clean up the rest of the trolls, but this keeps the player base from dying. Don't be hostile to someone because they don't have a ton of money.
Now they just need to fix the broken elo system.

It is for most people who have to pay it over and over for multiple bans.

That's kind of the idea. The problem is that nothing is stopping people from making new accounts after they've been banned. And now it's reached a boiling point. BMG doesn't have the resources to keep the community clean and free, and ultimately the community is what makes or breaks a game in a text based game. Sure, less players are going to be inclined to play, but right now not many players want to stay with the community the way that it is, either. Lesser of two evils.

Terribly sorry, everyone, I made this post when I saw the update but never actually stopped and wondered about if BMG is just using the "bots and trollers" as an excuse to make a free-game-quality game a pay-to-play game. BlankMediaGames and Town of Salem is dead to me now. Bye.

cobenson be talking about the referrals, you literally cannot stop bots because they will always find a way. If I wanted, if anyone wanted they could break the forums with a bot.
