I play the game for the "Ah ha!" moments when you catch someone in a lie and can hang them, figuring out just what you're up against when two people claim doctors and having to decide which one is telling the truth, or tricking the Jailor or the town into thinking you're someone important when you're a killer all the way to the endgame. Keeping role card reading as an option just gives people permission to not play the game right and not use the brains they were born with.
well you clearly are very opinionated about the 'right' ways to play the game. That said i see nothing wrong with it, it is a fairly reliable method that can be countered just like any other, and until the day it is no longer as useful as it is now there's no reason to stop doing it

I understand why you would though, cause you wanna win as evil and it's being made null and void to try lying otherwise cause it's all the Jailors want and nothing else. This sort of thing is why I feel the reading is not okay, there shouldn't be just one thing you have to do to win/live another day.
