Zero laughs as the final announcement fades away.

An explosion can be heard from the Laboratory has the gas bomb goes off.

A second explosion can be heard as the vapors mix with other substances, starting a raging fire.

Everyone checks their bracelets.

John has 9 points.

Frank hands Johan a holy hand grenade before leaving.

Yann takes a stopwatch out of his breast pocket, fiddles with the dials a bit, and then leaves.

Not wanting to be left to die by the gas and the fire, Johan pulls out a gun and puts it to his head.

He pulls the trigger, killing himself instantly.

The raging fire eventually begins to consume the house.

When it reaches the foyer, the holy hand grenade is set off, immolating anything remaining in the house.

The escapees can only watch as the house burns to the ground.

The spirit of Silvio Brandt stands amidst the rubble.

He pulls a coin out of his pocket.

On each side is an image of an unbalanced scale.

The edge looks impossibly thin.

He walks up to the group of escapees and flips the coin in the air.

It bounces a few times before coming to rest.

It has landed on its edge.

The impossibly thin edge of balance has been met.

Silvio takes the coin and throws it into the rubble before disappearing back to the Ethereal Plane.

Yann frowns as he stares at the burning rubble, and at Silvio.

He pulls out his stopwatch.

It has been running for about 6 years.

He stops it ... and resets it.

A gust of wind passes through.

Nothing seems to have changed ... at least, not in this universe.

But somewhere out there, there exists a parallel, far different universe.

In this other universe, Silvio Brandt never boarded the train to Bordeaux.

The co-conductor refused to allow him on the train, claiming his lack of personal hygiene would be off-putting to the other passengers.

In this world, someone else was abducted in Silvio's place, and Silvio did not die on the Ten Forty-Five Westward.

In this world, Thomas didn't go mad and suspect conspiracy where there was not, causing him to lose his wife to suicide and abduct eleven innocent people.

In this world, a luxury private plane is about to make a crash landing.

Some of its engines are on fire.

Some of its passengers are dead.

Some of its passengers are currently dying.

And Yann Tissot is the Keeper of the Balance.
