With the house now going down in flames there wasn't much left to do but leave. Grace left a Joker card on the steps and followed the Vahn and Noel to Vahn's car. Before letting them in he decided to check the photo he took 6 hours ago, maybe it came out nice.

Noel is completely blocked out by Vahn's head, Grace is looking somewhat confused in Noel's direction, Emma and Tobias are smugly smiling at each other, Ms. Briah is looking confusedly at Alfred, Alfred is jeering at Emma, Onyx is looking fairly confident in his stance, and Erika is looking... completely sweet and innocent.

What a mess of a photo.

"Alright you two, get on in, it's a bit of a drive back to town, the wife doesn't usually doesn't keep her ice cream place open this late buuuut I'm sure I can pull some strings once she hears this mess of our story." Vahn said.

Noel and Grace wordlessly got in the car. They'd done it, they got the will, but was it really worth digging up 4 decades of shit no one should have had to know, and costing the lives of 6 other people?

What a mess was made.

Meanwhile... back inside the Mansion.

"Well Emma, I think it's time we make our exit." Tobias said, noticing the smoke piling in.
"Agreed."

Rushing out of the Master Bedroom and into the Main Foyer they noticed that the fire had blocked the Entrance.

"Well that's rather unfortunate." Tobias said, his voice wavering a bit. "Wait, I've got it, come on Emma!" He said, quickly grabbing Emma's hand.

Heading into the East Wing, they ran into the Parlor, which had fortunately not caught fire yet. Tobias took out his shotgun and tried to bash in the large windows but they didn't want to budge.

"Fine, you want to be like that, then I'll just have to..." Tobias said before taking a running start to the window.

"Tobias, WAIT!" Emma yelled, but it was too late, for he had already jumped through the window.

Emma followed him out to find him convulsing on the grounds, his bracelet beeping.

"Tobias..." Emma said, tears already running down her face.

"What, you think..." Tobias said, already starting to pull himself off the ground. "Some stupid... poison is going to kill me... that easily?" Tobias stumbled a bit as he pulled himself all the way, being caught by Emma.

She slapped him.

"Don't scare me like that you big oaf!" Emma yelled.

"No scare intended, my dear sister." Tobias said, chuckling a bit.

The duo turned to see the entire mansion was starting to fall apart, the fire being somewhat nice against the starry sky.

"Well, we may not have gotten what we intended coming here," Emma said. "But I think this is a far better end for this horrid place."

"Agreed, my dear sister." Tobias said.

"Soo... how exactly are we going to get out of here? I doubt a taxi coming to this burning place would be exactly good for us."

"Already covered." Emma said, jangling a pair of keys. "Swiped them off Alfred, wasn't sure if I'd need them but, seems we definitely did."

"Ever wise as always." Tobias said, the duo chuckling a bit as they headed off and away to the police car in the distance.

August 29th, 1976

20 days after the Mansion Incident.

"Well kid, that Mansion and everything in it was about the only thing Alois Ulrich officially had to his name, and since the whole place went up in flames, it'd be hard to get you anything he had unofficially." said an Old Looking Business-type man.

"Well surely he had something else right? Right?" Grace said, desperate at this point, anything would be better than having done all of this for nothing.

"Fine, I'll look through everything again" The Old Man said, shuffling through his papers.

"Ah, here's something, a German car from 1970, you want it?"

Well, it was better than nothing. "Uh... sure." Grace said.

"Right then, I'll contact some mechanics so we can get some new keys made, it'll be about a week." He said.

Grace had been in a bit of a slump ever since the Mansion incident. While the documents they took from the basement were extremely damning, since Emma and Tobias were presumed dead, anything that could be done was dropped quick. Worse still, the valuables that Ms. Briah had set aside from the estate defaulted to her family, since there was nothing in writing that said who it was meant to go to. Grace was back to nothing, and since Noel wasn't too well off either, she couldn't commit to taking her in.

All Grace could hope is that this car had something... anything in it.


Maybe it did.

Or maybe it was just another dead end.

Mod Rant:

Spoiler: Holy fuck suspicion was a fucking mistake of a mechanic. The intent was that it would cause more distrust amongst everyone but instead it lead to Chubby not only just having bullshit rolls, it meant it was incredibly easy for him to react to literally everyone trying to kill him. Admittedly, I also didn't account for Chubby going full psycho literally 2 minutes into the first roaming and causing Erika's killer thing to trigger, but aaaagh.

I also made a major mistake by allowing Arckas to find Nelly's phone while she was unconscious, which quite literally led to them not being able to do shit for the entire game, and also led to Nelly being suspected of killing Chemist even though there was literally no point when she could have swiped the gun. That's a major reason I refused to let the phone work until Nelly was able to get it back after LoF died.

There was also a fuckton of shit rolls that I started giving out pity actions that worked no matter what, and had to introduce exhaustion to Chubby since he just wouldn't stop doing shit. Then he rolls 2 nat 20s. On an Inept action. Ugh.
