VLDR: Zero Time Dilemma

Guidelines


ACTIVITY - Players are expected to be generally active - you will not be forced out of the game from inactivity, but the usual trope of 'the more inactive you are, the less I care' applies.

CHARACTERS AND ROLEPLAY - A full name and minimal backstory is required, and roleplaying is both expected and encouraged. The best way to enjoy this game, however, is by at least being able to talk to others. There is no restrictions for characters other than they must be 18+. Please don't break the fourth wall by quoting your rolecard or anything like that.

COMBAT - Combat is decided based on dice, with bonuses or maluses applied based on your skills. If you are not around for a fight, I will do my best to follow how your character has been playing - a character that abhors violence would run. Do not be afraid to set up how you'd want your character to act while you're away, either. I will follow that.

KINDNESS - Don't be an ass.

PUZZLES AND DECISION GAMES - All puzzles are optional and can be found through roaming. Decision games are not optional, and if you'd like to think of it this way, sort of take up the slot where AB games and puzzles used to be.

INVENTORIES - As standard - five slots and one hidden slot.

ESCAPE - Acquire enough X-Passes to leave.

ACTIONS - Actions will be processed using LoFBot - please join his server for this game. If you need a link, feel free to message me.

WINCON - Wincons should be considered a suggestion - if you have a reason to break from it, that is perfectly OK.

OTHER - There will be no mindreading in this game. No mindhacking either. There are no revivals and Zero is not a role. Usual gag rule on out of game talk - I don't really care, but if you spoil stuff or reveal things unrevealed, you're getting knived. Please feel free to talk to me about the game or your characters, or anything banal. I assure you I'd love to hear your 32 page poem about your character, genuinely. The more I know, the better I can build the game around your characters.


STATS
Spoiler: Stats can be divided into three segments:

COMBAT stats are added when you are in combat.
Duelist - Sharp weapons such as knives or swords.
Blunt - Dull weapons like nunchucks or baseball bats.
CQC - How well you do with your fists, feet, and grappling.
Aiming - Catchall for ranged weapons, small benefit to melee weapons hitting their target.

STATS are normal ones that have a wide variety of uses and are added to dice rolls in general, with some modifiers depending.
Strength - How well you operate heavy equipment, armour, and general lifting along with a small bonus to melee.
Vitality - How well you roll with the punches - literally. VIT is all about your survivability.
Fate - Willpower, mental fortitude in general with recovery, and sometimes luck.
Athletics - General speed.
Intelligence - General knowledge, intuition, and you gain a skill point at INT +3, INT +5, etc. You lose one at INT -3, -5, etc.

SKILLS are very specialised knowledge, and are required to pass skill checks. A check will always pass - a doctor will not hilariously fail at stitching. A baseline of success will always happen with a high enough skill.
Medicine - Doctoring in general, with some lean towards robotics as technology advanced with better surgical equipment and automated robotics.
Scientist - Science in general - advanced equipment rarely comes with manuals, and is knowledge from 'coding' to 'plasma cutters'.
Mechanist - Mechanics in general - robotics to traps, this is the stat. Useful for crafting and other things.
Mobility - Fancy flips and dodging - though dodging is rolled as a combat skill in battle. Otherwise, you can pull off your parkour.

ASSIGNING STATS:
Everything maxes at +5/-5 in assigning. It can go above or below in other circumstances.

COMBAT:
You start off with two free points to assign anywhere you like. If a skill is not above +2, you only have to subtract -2. For the next point above 2 in a skill, it is -3, and for any points after that, it is -6. An example is provided before.

XerxesLeFan - A distinctly older man with blond hair and yellow eyes. He's greying heavily at the temples, and what you can see of his face is filled with some small scars, and a rather large one across the bridge of his nose. He wears a maroon coat, and a grey shirt with slacks and heavy looking boots. You think you can see a glimpse of a ring on his left ring finger.
Hawkwing425 - She is a darker-skinned woman with brown hair and green eyes. Standing at 5'8", she dresses herself in a suit that she keeps as neat as possible. The suit consists of a white dress shirt with a dark grey tie, a buttoned grey coat, and black pants. She wears black dress shoes. She sports a pair of wire-frame glasses, and wears a light coat of black lipstick.

phinerxen - Roque is a more light-skinned woman with a height of 5'9 and slightly smooth limb at a glance. Her hair is brown and messy, being long enough to reach her shoulders but doesn't disrupt her face. She has blue eyes, as well. She wears a purple hoodie with the sleeves rolled up to her forearms, a black skirt reaching to her knees, and sneakers, with all of these easily showing their old age.
Schultz128 - A younger man with snow white hair as white as their skin tone, tied back into a ponytail that drapes over their shoulder. They're relatively tall and slim, and wear a brown button up jacket with matching slacks and boots, an almost rural outfitting.
Renetear - A woman of below average height that looks to be in about her early 20s. She has long, pink hair that nearly touches the floor despite being tied up in twin tails. Her eyes are a Crimson red color and she has weirdly elf-like ears. Her outfit appears to be one of a very eccentric nurse, being a mostly white collared mini dress with bits of red on her apron that really only covers her chest, the cuffs, and the sides. She wears thigh high boots with garters connecting to under her dress. She has a nice little red cap that's red with a white cross in the middle. Most glaringly she had bat wings and devil horns on top of her head, which are impossible to tell if they're really cleverly placed props or actually on her head.

AcidicBreeze - Young woman in their early 20's, Wears an eyepatch over there left eye with long black hair adorned by red ribbons, Dresses in a black gothic dress.
Arcthurus - Ref
Knockoff - A tall young man with short cropped black hair and brown eyes. He wears a white suit over a button-down shirt with black slacks and dress shoes. He has small silver hoop earrings and a plain golden ring on one hand.
Spretznaz - A guy of indecipherable age, but definitely appears to be on the young side. His spiky hair is white at the base but turns greener the closer it gets to the ends, suspiciously looking like celery stalks. He's wearing an off-white jacket that almost looks like a lab coat, khaki shorts and sneakers. His forearms are also taped up to the wrists.
Yau - Seliph appears as a relatively tall man in his mid-late twenties with brown eyes and bags under them, he has medium lengthed black hair with white highlights, he's seen wearing a jacket along with long cargo pants, along with a watch on his left wrist.

Er... I don't think so? I'm just a nurse, I was doing a house call with my dear Doctor for some patient with lung cancer that definitely wasn't lung cancer.

@newcomers - The passengers section of the plane is a simple, but normal affair, really. The seats are comfortable and recline, a tablet for games is embedded in the seat in front of you. It looks like a normal shipliner.

It's possible your "Doctor" had something to do with Titan, and that's why you were kidnapped. Targeting those related to who one wants to hurt, and all that. Unfortunately common.

Vano pops open the window cover and looks outside. It's the afternoon, a bright day outside. You can see a glittering ocean beneath you and some birds flying by.

It would probably be the perfect day normally. Sadly, you're at cruising altitude judging by how far away you are from the ocean.
