Forget about the details Vera. It can be your most trusted ally, or your most hated enemy.
It's the principle, the idea that I am talking about. Of course there will always be exceptions and edge cases but for this hypothetical argument let's just say you don't know who is on the other side.
So consider this: for every person, would you rather betray or be betrayed? And which would you do more often, betray the other or allow the other to betray you?
There are no wrong answers here, and also no right answers, just an open ended discussion.
