Insomniac (Neutral Benign) by JamJamalWiki Name: Insomniac
Summary: You are a suicidal maniac; your fear of being lynched keeps you awake at night.
Alignment: Neutral Benign
Unique: No
Goal: Get yourself killed at night by any means, apart from sleep deprivation
- If you get lynched, you lose.
- If you die of sleep deprivation, you lose, even if you die in more than one way.
- If you die at night without dying of sleep deprivation, you win
You must choose a form of rest every two nights, if you do not choose a form of rest for two nights in a row, you will die from sleep deprivation and automatically lose.
You can choose to either sleep or drink coffee.
You have unlimited sleeps, but only one coffee.
If you choose to sleep, you will gain Powerful defence for that night (by putting yourself in isolation) and your sleep deprivation will be delayed for two nights.
If you choose to drink coffee, you will not gain any defence for that night, your sleep deprivation will be delayed for two nights.
If you are hauled off to jail, you will not be able to sleep or drink coffee (you will die of sleep deprivation if you did not rest the night before and lose even if you are executed.)
If you are role blocked/pirated you will not be able to sleep or drink coffee.
If you are controlled you will not be able to sleep or drink coffee, however, if the Witch/Coven Leader forces you to target yourself, you will automatically sleep.
Sherrif: Your target is not suspicious.
Investigator: Your target could be an Escort, Transporter, Consort, Hypnotist or Insomniac.
Witch/Coven Leader/Consigiliere: Your target wants to kill themselves before their sleep deprivation finishes the job. They must be an Insomniac.

Reverse Jesters are usually a bad idea, but your idea seems ok! I’ll let others see if it’s good or not

Nononononononono.
First of all why the hell is it a Neutral Benign, that makes no sense whatsoever. Infinite sleeps? One single coffee? Why does Coffee delay sleep deprivation? Also it's a reverse Jester, which I personally despise.

No, this all makes sense. First of all, I had suggested somewhere else for it to be NE Second of all, its a BALANCED reverse jester, as it can only be killed on about 50% of the nights. Also, if it gets rbed or jailed on the wrong nights its screwed because then sleep deprivation will kill it. There is one coffee because sleep gives it defense while coffee is basically sleep without defense. (did you even read it?)
I think it works, I would want to play as this, it makes vet baits more suspicious.
However, something should happen if you kill the insomniac or maybe even just visit it the night it dies.
I do agree with it being maybe, NE instead of NB Did you even read it? Of course it gets infinite sleeps. Why would you limit a role to like 8 day life span? Coffee delays sleep deprivation because sleeping gives you a defense but the defense sucks as it makes it so only a few people can kill you like jesters and some others. Also, if you are attacked on these nights, people will out you and you will get lynched. Finally, it is a balanced reverse jester. You can only win on about 50% of the nights and if you defends on the wrong night or an escort gets you on the nights you need to sleep, you lose.
However. I do think there should be a punishment if you kill it or maybe even visit it the night it dies. Overall, I like it!

please use spoilers to separate that huge line of text into parts hurts my eyes to read that
why is there no penalty for someone who kills you like jestor like otherwise people can just kill you for free if they feel bad for you
does jailing executing you count has dying during the night if it does this role is very ez to win as
all you need to is claim jailor in day chat then get killed during the night or get jailed by the real jailor for lying about being jailor, if you don't give the real jailor a different role he will just exe you
also if you get jailed randomly you can do this
just lie and say im SK to jailor for ez wins since there's no penalty for killing this role the jailor won't care if you are insomniac like or are really SK so rather then risk being killed by NK he will just exe you

Yes I did read it, how the hell would I not know it has infinite sleeps, I was questioning why there was infinite sleeps, not like 4 and how coffee delayed sleep deprivation because sleeping does that as well, drinking coffee would make you more awake, leaning more into sleep deprivation, but drinking it for some reason delays it, did you even read the role?
I never mentioned this, but as Mystoc says, there is no punishment, just bait and be killed at night, this role is far from balanced.

wouldn't a reversed jester's goal be to simply not get lynched?

you have to make sure the Jailor doesn't jail you on a night where you are due to rest, otherwise you will lose whether you are executed or not, but yes if you are jailed on a night where you are not due to rest, you are in luck

No, their goal would be to avoid being lynched and die at night, but I agree this isn't a bad Reverse Jester. It does have the issue of not having an outright penalty for killing it, but that would explain why it is NB and not NE, there is no penalty for helping this role.
