Lore V.1 -
Spoiler: Sitting in my office can get boring when you're spiralling handcuffs around your fingers, waiting for something to occur in the town. Just something interesting to take place, after successfully jailing a mass murdering fire fanatic and a serial killer obsessed with masks when you're back to jailing miscreants that steal from war veteran's store cupboard. In desperation to search for something interesting I went for a stroll with the chilling waning gibbous, inspecting the town with what it has to offer now that almost all of the sadistic killers are locked up safe, the only time I have not been cautious in going outside

But then I heard a gunshot, as distinct as a roar in the sleeping savannah where my legs dashed towards it to see if anyone needs to be served justice, shackles clacking as I dash. I make my way to the area and spy distinct bloody footprints approaching a door ajar into a dim lit room. A paced quietly to the door and cautiously opened it, letting sunlight fill the room. A bullet knifed me through the gaping whole into my thigh and I fall back, screaming, before blacking out

As I regained consciousness I was in the stretcher, fondled by surgeons, and saw the sheriff frantically try to puzzle what had occurred at this house. Another body was trailed out, gun in hand, hole in head, bullet in skull. I heard them discuss that it was an act of suicide, but I knew better. I knew that the suicide victim was right handed from the gun being placed in his right hand and yet the bullet entered through his left ear, a manoeuvre unnecessary and uncomfortable for a suicidal man. He was murdered, by the figure who shot me in the leg, but before I could say anything more I was transported off to the surgery

My recovery was strenuous, laying there as days passed. The sheriff never questioned me as a witness and I began to think that the police was corrupt, protecting this murderer. After all of the killers that have been jailed there are still ones that live on, this town is far from safe. As soon as I was able to walk using a crutch a trudged over to the house of the sheriff. He was smug in his chair, displaying his badge for everyone to see, thick black boots, a seeping long moustache and white wispy hair showing through his sagging hat. I explained my views and asked to try and find this killer but he said they didn't make sense, acting as though I was still dazed from being shot and that I didn't examine all of the crime scene when blacked out. With perseverance and resilience I made my views clear but he shut me out, kicking me into the torrential rain

I walked back empty handed, but then someone stopped me. Someone on the stand, someone with the noose around their neck, someone staring into my soul. I could not make out who it was, but then when they kicked a pistol, empty, gliding through the shallow puddles, I knew it was the killer. But then something unexpected happened, as the lightning crashed onto the melancholy streets they lit up a familiar face, my father. He said he knew he wanted me dead and if his only reason to stay alive was to get revenge and aid his son in his last years but he got revenge and his son didn't care about him being horrifically murdered then there was no reason to live. I threw myself up the stairs, I lost my crutch in the rains, I dragged myself up the stairs, my my muddy hands heaving like a legless beggar, but I could not save him

All this time I'd been sending people to prison when I did not understand what was happening in their lives, blind to their suffering, but now I feel where they have come from with my own father's suicide relating to their suffering and lynching, it was time to bring justice to the world, and not by killing

Special thanks to Parallax7 who helped make this role

so it just role blocks all visitors with lower than 3 priority?

u say send to jail but don't mention anything about jailor being able to kill/talk to them or them being immune in jail, so really is just roblocks visitors

Allow me to clear this up with an example.

N1: Incarnator targets guiles, Serial Killer, Investigator, and Vampire Hunter also target Guiles.
All three will be role blocked the following night, but it will be a special role block, like Jailor's. Note: Incarnator will know they captured 3 players, but not who.
N2: The three players from the previous night will be informed they are incarcerated and cannot perform their night abilities. Serial Killer will not attack you, because you aren't visiting them, +it'd defeat the purpose of this role entirely.

So whoever you target is going to die(if visited by a killer) but the next night you prevent them from killing anyone? That doesn't sound incredibly useful to me, I think a Doctor saving the first target would just be better.

Erraticz wrote:Does it get killed by WW and SK?

Does RB immunity work against this RB?

Incarcerator will die against WW, SK cannot kill the Incarcerator like the Jailor as this detaining process is not like getting jailed, it is essentially an inescapable Roleblock. That means RB immune roles will still get RB'd

Yes, roleblocks visitors with a lower than 3 priority
This role has no relation to the Jailor, they are just given an inescapable Roleblock

It still lowers KPN, plus it can prevent more roles from using their ability the next night. Could be TS

JGaming08 wrote:Seems like a fleshed out role, but I have one question.

Does it know who it detains?

No, just how many

Maybe as TS this could work, I wouldn't want it as a TP.

This is going off of the priorities listed on the wiki, correct? If not, can we get a list for that?

Yes it is, so it is mainly able to roleblock Killing roles, Investigative roles and other weak actions

So it's just a Doctor that protects the target and roleblocks the killer afterwords, but also stops other roles?

It won't protect the target that night, it roleblocks the visitors the next night though so it can't really be an effective protective

Well then it doesn't sound all that useful. It can stop evils from using their ability the night after, but how does that help nearly as much as stopping them that night? A Doctor would be better for protecting, though you did say this isn't meant for protecting. This could stop other roles but you wouldn't know whether you're stopping important Townies or evils because you have no clue. The only time I see it useful is if someone is Blackmailed, you can get the Blackmailer to be roleblocked for one night assuming they blackmail that person again, but a Lookout could do that and kill off the Blackmailer.

Stopping them the next night is the drawback from it being able to roleblock multiple targets, it's a balancing act. This is meant to be used as a protector as its main target of who it can roleblock are killers but it's primary focus is not meant to stop killers but instead evildoers in general

I may chance the priority to second though as on the balance atm it is kind of weak however this will make it just an Escort which roleblocks multiple targets the following night. I'll consult people about it

The way this stops evildoers is the problem. Any sort of mass-Escort-like role isn't a skillful one, because you're just picking one person and hoping the person you want roleblocked is going to visit, and even if you do there's a good chance plenty of Townies can get roleblocked as well.

Well with this because there's a small amount of roles that you can roleblock you need to pick targets strategically
