Role Name: Marathon Runner

Role Alignment: Neutral Benign

Attributes:
Roleblock Immune
Controll Immune
If he visits he and his target cannot be transported by other roles
Unique role

Abilities:
Heal your target and transport yourself with them

Goal:
Survive until Day 8

Wins with:
Everyone

Special Attributes:
Does not win if the game ends before Day 8
Still wins if he dies after or during Day 8

Investigative Results:
Sheriff: Not Suspicious
Investigator: Your target is skilled at disrupting others. They must be an Escort, Transporter, Consort, or Marathon Runner

Additional Information (comments):
This role would be very interesting. They would need to support the losing faction or risk the game ending too soon. Since most game end between day 8-9 in ranked this role could be hard to win as. He could mess up invest results by transporting himself with a scum and he could save someone by using vet strategy's. Would need to avoid suspicion too in order to not be lynched or exed and would need to avoid transing himself with high priority targets. He could reasonably claim transporter and it would make a trans claim more sus as the Marathon Runner would usually be trying to help an evil role like the Neutral killing Because they take longer to win.

most games end in 6-7 days living till day 10 would be very very difficult

this favors town you would only ever heal a evil if vig shoot them but with town there are a lot ways to save them from sk and mafia

i would make it so if you visit them they are immune to death for that night and the day that way getting to day 10 is actually feasible and it doesn't favor town anymore cause it can stop lynching

Or, refresh the page the second you get this role to avoid losing.

The concept of the role isn't all that great since it's much more likely to side with Town, and trust me, Town does NOT need another healer. A Benign that heals favors Town, and since he's control AND RB immune, Consort and Witch can't take advantage of it.

The biggest flaw of this role, though, is its broken win condition. A single healing role is unlikely to extend the game to 10 days, and the average game lasts only 6-7 days. Even if a Marathon Runner actually manages to save a few people from attacks, the game is will probably not last that long. If this role was implemented into the game as is, it would have the lowest win-rate in the game, and Town win-rates would go up slightly.

Couldn't have been said better. Even the NKs would feel pity for this worthless role; it would have the lowest win-rate in the game.

The Idea was to have a role that would have a reason to support the losing team at all times. Its ability can mess with TI's and stop killings if your targeted. This means he can help any faction but has to help the losing one. What do you suggest I do? lower the number of required days (8 or 9 might work)? Give it another effect on the target (maybe role-blocking)? Should I give it night immunity? Remember he most likely will try to stop killing but also defend killers do make sure the game lasts longer. The 6-7 day thing is in a game where everyone is trying to win asap.

By the way. I'm not sure if you understand that if you want to heal someone you must also transport them with yourself. So if you wanted to for example heal a revealed mayor then you would need to make sure that he isn't being attacked. At that point you aren't really helping the mayor but using whatever is keeping him from being attacked (probably a bodyguard) to keep yourself safe as well which doesn't particularly effect town. In order to properly save someone you must first direct attention to you and make yourself a target to the maf or nk. And if your worried about the heal only helping town unless vig, This means that you can't use your transport to get your target to kill himself or an ally. It also means that you can prevent kills from roles that normally can't be stopped. Like the WW. Or the Pestilence if your playing coven.

This would make the Marathon Runner too high priority to the town to survive. Being able to make someone lynch Immune is insanely op for whoever get's it. The GA in coven is powerful enough but it makes sense there. Remember that the main benefits of your ability's for evils is the town thinking that there are roles that don't exist. If someone was healed by you then the SK can claim rt doc more easily (your not going to CC that and kill the SK) and if you are transported than a sheriff checking you might not see you as SK or Mafia and if your claiming trans then an actual TS might be lynched instead of a mafia's TI claim. I agree that this role is under powered when it comes down to it. But I don't think this is the way to go.

For now I have changed the goal from surviving until day 10 to until day 8. If you think that is too easy then I will change it to day 9 but with how UP you seem to think this role is I don't think that will be an issue. If you still think it is hard that is fine. I'm going for this role to be about as difficult as the witch-sig but no more difficult than prebuff-witch.
