Corruptor - Neutral Evil

Postby AssRapist » Thu Mar 09, 2017 8:26 am

* = probably will considered overpowered by some people.

Role: Corruptor

Alignment: Neutral Evil

Background Story:
Corruptor is a Charismatic and Rich individual who got corrupted over the years, everyone were belittling him since his childhood. he grew in a poor family with a drunk abusive father which was a former Jailor.
He decided to leave his "Good Deeds" family roots and change his purpose in life to take his Revenge on Town to justify his scarred childhood memories.

Ability:
At Night Phase- You can choose a target and Corrupt (Prevent) this target from voting in the following Day.
At Day Phase- If you Corrupted a target at Night Phase you can decide who will he vote against in that Day. (You have The "Sun" Icon like the Jailor to make the Target vote. Also You decide if to do it or not.)

Special Ability:
"Pulling Strings" - Any Player that also visited the Target you Corrupting, They will be also Corrupted and will Automatically be Forced to vote against the Player that will be voted 50% or more of the required votes to be lynched that Day*
Example:
1.You Corrupted a Jailor.
2.An Investigator visited the Jailor that Night as Well.
3.Town need 6 Votes in Total to Lynch a Player, Meaning after 3 votes (50%) the Investigator will be forced to vote against him as well.
4.You can still vote yourself and Force the Jailor as well to vote against anyone you want because you Corrupted him.
(This is where your Role can really snowball out of control if there are multiple visitors.)

Attributes:
-You get a list of all the Players you Corrupted at the end of the Night, even the ones that Visited your Target.
-Your target will know if he got Corrupted but he won't be notified of who he voted against (by Corrupter) at the Day phase. (It will not show his vote on chat for him, He can count the votes to find that out but it's tasking and will waste his time.)
-Mayor is immune to your Ability and he will be Notified in chat if you targeted them that Night. (You've been Corrupted but you are Immune to Corruption. While Corruptor gets; Your Target is wanna be elitist dipshit Immune to Corruption.)

*Special Attributes:
-Whoever kills you will lose his ability to vote for 2 Days after your death. Jailor is not affected from this if he Executes a Corruptor. (This is possibly to balance the role in comparison to Witch which will seem more overpowered and a way to punish Killing roles.) Roles that affect from that: Serial Killer, Werewolf, Arsonist, Mafioso, Vigilante, Veteran and Bodyguard.
-Bodyguard can kill a Corruptor that visits his Target without dying. (Will serve it purpose to tell the Town that there is a Bodyguard in the game without him being killed first and to Nerf Corruptor that way as well, to give him other possible threat.)

Goal: Survive to see Town lose the game. (Wins with Mafia,Werewolf,Serial Killer,Arsonist,Survivor, Witch and Vampires.)

Investigative Results:
Investigator - Escort, Consort, Transporter or Corruptor; Your target is skilled at disrupting others.
Sheriff - Your target is not suspicious.
Consigliere - Your target is seeking revenge and twisted by Corruption. They must be a Corruptor!

Immunity:
-Corruptor can be Roleblocked.
-can only be Killed at Night by Werewolf, Arsonist and Serial-Killer. Mafia won't be able to kill him.
-Also he is able getting Witched but he still gets the chance to active his Day Ability.

Achievements:
"Irony" - Getting executed by a Jailor.
"Touché" - Targeting a Mayor in Night phase. (will be shown when game ends.)
"Look-ey What I Found" - Corrupting a Jailor. (will be shown when game ends.)
"YOU SHALL NOT VOTE!" - Corrupt the same target 5 times in a game!
"PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! STOP!" - Corrupt the same target 10 times in a game!
"Politics Is Not For Me" - Win a game without Corrupting anyone.

Role Color Text: Black.

That's it basically, hope I covered most of the stuff about the role and other roles.
Tell me what's your opinion about this role and what do you think will be good for it?
Thanks for reading so far and have a rest good day.

UPDATED: Changed some stuff and made the role more Viable and Interesting to play.

This role is useless. It can't vote and it forces one person to vote for them. So in other words it has a single vote just as a normal player would. Also if a player is forced to vote for another person they can just say they were corrupted and everyone will ignore their vote. Nice username by the way.

-Giving it a second vote will be overpowered.
-Executioners, Jesters , Mafia and other N.K Roles can use the Corruption system for their favor, So you can say all you want that you are Corrupted, people might lynch you if they suspect you as a bad role.
-You eliminate a single vote every day, how is that useless? Example:Town have a really solid proof that someone is a bad role and you can prevent one person from voting against him.
-Thanks, I'm trying to sort it out tho'.

I can see that happen when there are only towns and a Corruptor, also one target will not vote with the Corruptor himself so Town will get 2 guys to lynch.
Other bad roles can also ignore this Special Request, most of the games there will be always people who don't type in chat or vote.
A Jailor can forget to vote because he might be busy thinking and doing his Day Ability and miss that. Will he get lynched as well?
Even if they sort it out on the second Day, The town have wasted 2 Days on a Corruptor while Mafia and NK killing the town members.

It's not as simple as it looks.

You can pretend you got Corrupted as well, So with that will town lynch a Corrupted Player assuming he pretending?

All of these examples you provide are reliant on the town playing poorly. However, if the town is competent they will immediately recognize that there is a corrupter and then lynch whoever can't vote.
An easy fix for this problem is to have the votes be displayed, but not to have the votes actually counted.

That being said, this role doesn't work very well. Imagine a situation in which there is a Corrupter, a TK and a Mafioso. The Mafia can't win in this situation: if the TK is a Jailor, then the Jailor will execute the Mafioso; if the TK is a Veteran, it causes a stalemate; if the TK is a Vigilante, then the Vigilante and Mafioso kill each other. However, if any other NE was present in place of the Corrupter, the Mafia would win.

The mafia often relies on the neutral evils for voting power, which this seems to lack.

That's a great example, thanks for it.

I had few other options for his ability would you mind reading them as well?

First Option:
Corruptor can vote and his abilities stay the same while his Day Ability activated like a Jailor List Type Ability. You can't change it after you chose a name from the list to vote against. (Will be less overpowered by less versatility in voting power.)

Second Option:
Corruptor can vote and his Day Ability changes that the target he chose can only vote himself up the stand based on what the Corruptor will decide to do. (Nerfed First Option. but will fix the lacking vote issue nonetheless)

Third Option:
Corruptor can vote and he can can choose 2 players at night to Corrupt the next day while he lose his Day Ability.

Forth Option:
Corruptor can vote but his Night Ability changes to "Time is Money" reducing the Vote time duration to 20 seconds. The players will be announced in chat "The vote System is been Corrupted. Your target is 'Player Name'. Vote him or he will die the next Night." Meaning Town have to put that person into the Trial stand but they can vote innocent and save him that way. This Target is chosen by Corruptor at Night and it will play if the Target didn't died that night. (The role will become Neutral Killing at this point and I give it few charged to that skill or some sort of requirement to active like "Full Moon" thing or it's only can be done if no one got lynched the previous Day)
*It will need more changes since Neutral Killing can't win with Mafia so it will be a problem in some cases.

Also your Suggestion seem like a great fix for this problem because People can't catch the numbers going up by the exact person who voted in most cases.
If you don't like my suggestions I will add that instead, thanks for the help.

About the Jailor scenario, Jester, Executioner won't be able to do anything about it as well. Not sure about the Witch affects Jailor Execution in that moment.
