Testing Grounds Episode IX

1. Inactivity: If a player hasn't posted in the thread within 12 hours, I will prod them for inactivity. If they do not respond to the prod within 6 hours of it being sent, they will be replaced. Receiving two prods will result in an automatic replacement. Posts must be productive to the game and anything else will be seen as prod dodging and will not reset the prod timer.

2. Be Respectful: I will not tolerate any homophobic, racist, sexist, or any otherwise discriminatory behavior. Any type of behavior like this will be punished by being forcibly replaced. Remember that this is a game and if you feel that you're too on edge, take a break from it. I will step in and ask people to calm down if it starts getting too heated. So please, refrain from personal attacks.

3. Gamethrowing: Any attempt to intentionally make your faction lose the game will result in being blacklisted from future games. This includes shooting a revealed Mayor as a Vigilante or executing a confirmed Town member as a Jailor. All your actions must be done with the goal of winning as your faction and have a clear, logical explanation for your actions. This can include Jesting.

4. Spam: Do not post multiple times in a row if it can be avoided. It detracts from the game and makes it harder for people to catch up. Use quotes and spoilers to make one large post instead of many small ones as well as using the preview function to look at your post before posting it. I will spoiler excessively long posts at my own discretion.

5. No Outside Communication: Do not use outside methods of communication to disclose your role or any other similar information about this game to another player. Dead players may only speak to dead players, with a Medium using their night action being the only exception to this rule. Breaking this rule will result in being blacklisted from future games.

6. Last Wills, Deathnotes, and Night Actions: Be sure to label all PMs to me accordingly or you risk the chance that I'll miss the PM and not process whatever you wanted to be done. The proper way to label them is:

You cannot change your Will/Note after you sent it in for that night. The proper way to label them is:

7. Whispers: There will be no whispers this game.

8. Post Editing: Post editing is not allowed and will be, if found out, punished with a suspension from the game.

9. Flavor: Flavor should not be used to infer anything or support arguments as it is as the title implies, flavor text.

10. Role Modifications/Changes: The following are change and/or modifications made to roles either make them more suitable for an FM environment or act as testing variables that we would like to see in gameplay. These changes will supersede the role cards provided. Alternatively, they may be new additions we want you to be made aware of.

Psychic
Spoiler: Will now be able to read the linked players’ chat, and may send one anonymous message.

Rain Dancer
Spoiler: Rain Dancer will no longer notify all players that it will rain, only scum will be informed. Additionally, Rain Dancer will now be the only recipient of the drenched list. The announcement will not be global.

Musician
Spoiler: Musician may now ‘lull’ the town to sleep. It may do this thrice. Upon the town being lulled to sleep, the mafia will have a day chat opened up. The town will not receive day notifications, or vote feedback while lulled.

Nightmarer
Spoiler: Nightmares remain active after the death of Nightmarer.

Electrician
Spoiler: Electrician only has to charge players he can't win with for his killing all players at once ability to be activated.

Warlock
Spoiler: The cursed player will be the only player notified of their curse status. The target who’s fate has been tied to the cursed player will no longer be aware.

Witch
Spoiler: Witch's target will be thinking they were roleblocked instead of the "[color=#8000FF]Witch" notification.

Town Scout/Town Tactical’s
Spoiler: Town Support was divided into two sub-alignments to benefit game balance.
  • Town Tactical: Escort, Transporter, Incarcerator and Lookout.
  • Town Scout: Medium, Rain Dancer, and Lookout.


10. Fun: The most important rule is to have fun because this is a game and shouldn't be treated as anything aside from that.

Also 24 hours isn’t long enough for a day lol, in previous games we have enough trouble getting enough votes to get a lynch in 72 hours, it’s not enough time for discussion and people would just be random lynching, there wouldn’t be enough time for CFD if the target is town power etc etc

12/6 hour prod timers - get ready to replace a shit load of people lol

Was this role list actually tested for balance? 2 vigs in a game where town are guaranteed at least MyLo after 1 ML could be a disaster if they shoot town

No TI meaning how the fuck can town actually find the scum, since days are so short they can’t do it via scum reading so ???
No RT slots meaning scum will have a very hard time fake claiming anything, everyone would literally be claiming TP, vig or cit.
