I just got an email saying my email was a part of a data breach on BlankMediaGames. I suggest all of you changing your passwords.

I gave up on the game ages ago, I wouldn’t mind if someone smart enough hacked my account. My password is so obvious that you don’t even need to hack my account to get it.

Some notes about dealing with this breach:

• Changing your details won't mean your information isn't still out there. You should change your passwords especially if you didn't use a unique one when signing up on any of blankmediagames' websites. (And you might as well use a password manager while you're at it. In case this happens again, here or somewhere else. And it will, believe me.)
• Expect a lot of spam to your email address. Don't trust anyone, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
• If you ever purchased anything from Town of Salem then those payment details are also leaked. You should not forget this if you see any suspicious activity with your payment accounts.

EDIT: apparently payment information wasn't stored according to the dev.
EDIT2: Dev removed his post here. Leaked payment information includes Email, Full Names, Billing & Shipping addresses, IP Information, Payment Amount, and other details. No Credit Card Numbers.

We do not store payment information. If you use the same password for Town of Salem as other websites, I would update those other websites as well.

Good to know that payment information is not stored. As said above, your information including your password is out there, so change any passwords that match the one you use here. That's why a password manager is highly recommended.

I second this: there's not a whole lot that can be done knowing the number of characters.

On the bright side, this shakeup has probably encouraged many users to change their passwords after possibly not changing them for a long time. It's good to change passwords periodically.
