one thing that annoys me is people using words when:
1. there are other words you can use
and 2. the word you use doesn't mean what you want it to mean

one example is this thread, another is the negative connotations surrounding "feminist" although that's due to shitty people rather than people with shitty vocabulary

there was also the whole debacle about "literally" a couple years ago but nowadays it seems that it's used more in an ironic sense

there's almost certainly other words in this category but none come to mind atm
