It may not be the most obvious thing, but scum tend to care a lot more about how they appear to others than town does. And that's what you were doing all of day 1.

The difference between Discord and QuickTopic is that QT allows me to view everything that's been posted easily without having a "You're viewing older messages" notification disallow me from reading any messages younger than a certain point.

Why should spectators get extra information? Why not have them get the same kind of info and have them guess?

Town was in such a headstart. And now we gonna reroll and some ppl will get different alignments, will lose and probably bitch about it.

James threw his temper tantrum over being banned from chat, not his blacklist. Spectators are, for the most part, trustworthy. Just cap them at 2-4. I do believe that spectators and players should be kept apart not because of this incident but rather because it prevents leakages of information (GIM, 9B and 9E come to mind) and, frankly, I don't see the appeal of postmortem spoiling.

That's not a particularly good point. Why do you need to spectate anyways? Why not just read the game like if in the game.
It would even be better because this kind of spectators could join into the game as replacements who would already be caught up.

Doesn't matter what average player is. People are unpredictable, all it takes for some is to get salty for something.
You don't give a firework to a kid because you told them not to play with it and that it's dangerous. You keep them out of their reach.

I don't see a point of spectators honestly. Just see a way people can misuse.

What happens if spectators leave the info go into public? That can easily happen.
Or a mischievous person uses proxy and alt to spoil the game because they won't like how it's going.

No point to risk this kind of behavior.

I disagree. I think that dead players should be allowed to spectate, but they would be required to waive their right to be in the dead chat, speak with a Medium, and/or be revived by a Retributionist (if they're town, evil as well if Mel's ECO is used, despite that a Witch causing an evil player to be revived has never happened before).
