Fleeing the Sunken City

A gleaming citadel island in the center of the sparkling ocean blue...visible to the eye are a shining pyramid of gold, a canal running through the city, and astonishing splendor. Buildings made of precious metals and crystals so beautiful, one could stare for an era. A lush forest to the south, and picturesque snowcapped mountains to the north complete the mythical landscape.

A storm gathers. A dull boom echoes...

CRACK!

A lightning bolt slams down on the pyramid, and an earthquake rocks the island. A crevice opens up in part of the island....

It begins to rain. Fire. Fire everywhere. It's raining fire. Everything is shaking....water everywhere...

It's time to get off the island before it's gone.

Welcome to Atlantis, the Sunken City. Well, it's less of sunken, and more sinking. Hopefully you'll make it out before you die a horrible death.

This is an open game with a few caveats and a new mechanic.

What are your main ideas for mechanics?
Will it be somewhat like CFM10, or more like a Bomber situation, where you must end the game by a certain day?

I have seen the outer mechanisms, and I can confirm that this is a game of FM.
