General rules
1) Inactivity: After 36 hours if a player has not posted meaningful content they will be proded for inactivity. If they do not reply or post within 18 hours they will be replaced. If they are proded repeatedly, they will be replaced.
2) Whispers: No player can whisper in this game. Would you trust someone in an asylum to whisper in your ear? However, there is a role that can receive notes so see the role list for details.
3) Last Will/Death Notes: Will be in use. To set your Last Will or Death Note, PM the game Mods.
4) Game Throwing: We will not tolerate game throwing. You will be blacklisted from future games if you attempt to do this. This can include "Jesting".
5) Cheating: Do not use any outside sources for the purposes of this game. This includes, but is not limited to Skype, other forums, coders, etc.
6) Spam: Please don't avidly spam the thread. No one can get a word in edgewise and it becomes a mess if everyone is doing it.
7) Have fun and be respectful of others: You really should know this already
8) All forum rules apply.
Gameplay
Spoiler: Mechanically, this game will be no different to how normal games are played. There will be a 96 hour day phase followed by a 48 hour night phase. Players may vote to put someone into solitary confinement each day except Day 1 (Which will only last 48 hours).
The difference to normal games is that a few 'Town' aligned patients may not behave in ways that help the town win.

You are employed to ensure the patients here are kept healthy and are cared for. You didn't sign up for a mass outbreak! But you can't leave until all the dangerous patients are dealt with.

Asylum Manager (Staff Power) ~ Unique
You are the manager of the asylum. You just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
- From Day 2 onwards, you may reveal your role to all players by posting I'm in charge here! in the game thread. A Mod will confirm you as soon as possible
- Once you reveal, each player will be able to write you 2 notes of 300 characters or less each day. To write a note PM the mods. The fact you wrote a note will be reported in the game thread
- Notes are anonymous but you can sign your name on them if you wish. You can also sign someone else's name
- You can read all notes sent to you during the day during the following night
- Once revealed, your vote counts as 3.
Aggressive Orderly (Staff Power) ~ Unique
You are an Orderly. That's all. But to hell with it - you aren't going to die here!
- Each night you may grab hold of someone and detain them
- You must choose your target before the day ends.
- Detained individuals cannot use their night ability. Detained Criminals cannot use their night chat. Your presence will stop others from attacking them. They cannot be killed by a pyromaniac whilst detained
- You may ask the person you detained 2 questions of 100 characters or less. They may answer with a response of the same length
- You can choose to kill the person you detained
- You may kill 3 times. Your kill bypasses night immunity
- If you kill a staff member or a non-harmful patient the guilt will stop you killing again
Doctor (Staff Member)
You are a Doctor. Hired to make sure everyone is healthy. However, with the building on lockdown, supplies are running low
- Each night you may choose to heal someone
- You may visit yourself as often as you like
- If that person would be murdered by anyone but the pyromaniac or Aggressive Orderly, you will save them from death. You will be informed of your success
- You may only actually successfully heal 3 people the whole game.
Psychologist (Staff Member)
You are a psychologist, able to decide if someone is dangerous or not.
- Each night you may investigate someone
- You will be able to determine 3 groups - This person is stable. This person is unstable. This person is dangerous.

Ganzer Syndrome Sufferer (Patient Benign)
You suffer from a disorder which forces you to lie or give wrong answers to questions. Deep down, you are trying to avoid getting into trouble but your compulsion only makes it worse,
- You have no Night ability
- If you claim your role to anyone, you must claim to be a staff member
- If you report your night result, you must lie and claim a different result to your actual result.
- You can only claim the following Night results: "You slept peacefully" "Someone occupied your night. You were Roleblocked" "You were attacked, but nursed back to health!"
Hypochondriac (Patient Benign) (NOTE: This rolecard is for reference only. If assigned this role you will be told your role is a recovering patient)
You are an extreme case - you always think any contact with anyone is harmful!
- You have no Night ability
- If you are visited by anyone, you will receive the game message "You were attacked, but someone nursed you back to health!" instead of any message you would of normally of gotten
Recovering Patient (Patient Benign)
You have mostly recovered from your illness. Sadly, you were caught up in the chaos so your records are lost

- You are effectively a Citizen
Erotomaniac (Patient Benign)
You are suffering from a condition that makes you think that another player is secretly in love with you! You will do anything to help them!
- Another player of any alignment will be randomly chosen as your love interest
- Unless Roleblocked, you will automatically watch them at night
- You must prevent your interest being sent to solitary confinement. If you fail, you will commit suicide that night. If your target was someone you win with you will also lose the game even if 'Town' manages to win
Narcoleptic (Patient Benign)
You suffer from a brain unable to self-regulate sleep cycles. You can sleep for prolonged periods of time and still feel sleepy

- You will always receive the night result "You slept peacefully" regardless of what happened to you.
Paranoid Personality Disorder Sufferer (Patient Benign)
You suffer from a condition that makes you feel someone is out to get you. You are vigilant and always on the lookout for someone up to no good

- You will see who that person visits - Even if that person is you
- You are Role block immune.
Severe Mental retardation sufferer (Patient Benign) ~ Unique
You are an individual who simply has a very Low IQ. You never mean any harm, but your low intelligence leaves you open to suggestion by those who would exploit you

- You are night Immune
- If you are attacked, you will become a Stunt double for the person who attacked you
- If diagnosed by a Psychologist or investigated by a High-functioning sociopath you will become a stunt double for them as well.
Zealot (Patient Benign)
You are religious individual, who used their faith as an excuse to kill 'evil' people. Sadly, the outside world is not accepting of vigilantism.
- Except night 1, you may choose to kill someone
- You may choose up to kill 3 people
- If the person you kill was not a Killing class or a criminal, you will commit suicide out of shame. If your target is protected by a Stunt Double, then you will not suicide.
- You can kill people who are usually NIGHT IMMUNE
Substance Abuser (Patient Benign) (This card is for reference only. This role will be sent a different card instead of this one)
You abused a drug which has left you in a confused state with a slender grip on reality.
- A random staff or benign patient role will be chosen as your fake rolecard. It will always be a non-unique role and be able to visit.
- Any feedback you receive for this role will be wrong.
Medium (Patient Benign)
You are a powerful psychic who can communicate with the dead. Unfortunately, you were misdiagnosed with a form of schizophrenia and put in the asylum!
-Each night you may ask any dead player a question with a 75 character limit.
-The dead player can send you a 150 character answer to the question. They do not have to answer the question, nor tell the truth. However, the answer MUST be relevant only to the question, at the Game Moderator's discretion.
- The dead only have until the end of the Night Phase to answer you back.
- Dead players being contacted by a Medium are still permitted to private message other dead players as well.
- You may ask three questions each night. They do not have to be to the same person.
Other Neutrals
All these roles have different wincons to everyone else but are not tied to another alignment
Stunt Double (No specific alignment)
[This role will never be rolled for. This role is attached to the SMR sufferer Rolecard]
Your low intelligence is now being exploited. Have fun
- You are no longer night immune
- Your master is revealed to you. You may exchange 3 messages of no more than 300 characters each night.
- You will perform your master's night action for them
- If your master would be killed by any means, you will die instead of them
- You cannot vote for your master
- You win the game if your master wins the game.
Depressive (Patient)
You are an extremely depressed individual who has nothing to live for. You only want to kill yourself but you were locked up for your own protection
- You have no night ability
- You win by getting yourself locked in solitary confinement so you can end your life without anyone being able to stop you
- If you manage to get locked away, a random staff member will die from guilt over failing to protect you
Fregoli Delusionist (Patient)
You are a paranoid individual that believes a person who is out to get you is multiple people. It just happens that one of them is in the asylum!
- You are night immune
- You have no night ability
- You will be assigned a random benign patient OR non-power staff member
- You must get that person locked in solitary confinement so you feel safe.
- If that person is killed at night you realize your error. You won't feel safe and become depressed
- As long as your target was locked up, you don't need to survive the game to win.
Serial Killer (Patient Killing)
You are a psychotic individual who only wants to kill.
- Every night you may kill one person.
- You are night immune
- If you are detained and not killed or Roleblocked, you will kill the person responsible.
- You win if it is just you and the Criminal Mastermind remaining.
- You lose if it is just you and a Pyromaniac remaining.

Pyromaniac (Patient Killing)
You are obsessed with Fire. You will happily burn your way out so you can start fires elsewhere again!
- Each night you may set up a fire on a target. That target will not be informed
- Alternatively, you can light all fires you have set up
- All players will be informed that you have lit your fires, but no player will know that a fire has been set on them
- The night after you have chosen to light your fires, each player with a fire set up on them will die. This kill cannot be prevented by any means (Even if you are roleblocked or detained or if your target is night immune)
- The only way to stop your fires is to kill you.
- You are night immune.
- You win against other evil roles in a 1 vs 1 situation.

Criminal Mastermind (Criminal)
You somehow managed to escape jail for your crimes and ended up in this asylum. You are now going to escape it!
- You try to achieve this by systematically killing off one of the other players.
- You are Night Immune
- As the leader every other criminal member will report to you what happened to them each night
- If detained or dead, another member can do the factional kill instead of you.
- You can communicate with your allies each night, for as long as you are alive.
Enthralled Lover (Criminal Support)
You were attracted to your roguish leader due to a personality defect. You will do anything to help if can.
- Each night you can choose another player
- You will use your... charms... to distract that player and Roleblock them for the night
- You can communicate with your allies each night, for as long as you are alive
Cannibal (Criminal Support)
For some reason - it is not acceptable to kill and eat other people. Thankfully, the Mastermind is more understanding.
- Each night you may choose to eat someone.
- If that person dies that night, you will eat their corpse so no one can determine their role or what their last will is,
- You however will know their role and will.
- You can only try to eat 3 people.
- You can communicate with your allies each night, for as long as you are alive.
High Functioning Sociopath (Criminal Support)
Your personality defects allow you to easily read other people. Sadly, you just don't like them. Fortunately, the Mastermind has a plan to help you all escape
