Issues with steam after password change

Hey guys, i've been playing Town of Salem for two years and i've never had any problems with it but i'm encountering a problem now. A few weeks ago there was a data breach where everyone was told to reset their password. I did as was recommended of me, but now when I log in I can no longer "Login with Steam" and I have to type it manually. I've tried to click remember my password but this doesn't seem to work. This alone is a mere annoyance, but now there's another problem. I can't purchase town points as when I click the button it just goes grey for a second and nothing happens. It used to work for me and would bring up a steam pay thing but now its only that. How can I fix this?

You can only use Steam Overlay to buy things if you login with Steam.

What error do you get when trying to click the green button?

I've managed to fix the green button by clicking clear password. A new client came up when I tried to login with steam this time, asking for my password. I put that in and it seems to work now when I just click the green button. However, the steam overlay still does not show up when I make a purchase and it just greys out. Keep in mind I am aware I have to use steam for this to work and that is what I have been doing and further, the green button now works so I am not sure what to do.

Have you activated your Steamoverlay?

Yes, I also tried un-enabling it and re-enabling it. It's always worked in the past, it just hasn't worked since I changed my password.

Try reinstalling Adobe AIR, clearing the Download Cache in Steam (under settings) and after you did those two, restart your computer. Let me know if it works.

If you start up the game and log in with the Login with Steam button, does shift + tab work to open the overlay, or is that also a negative?

Strangely that does not work either, and I know it used to in the past. Very strange, but maybe we are getting somewhere here

Could you check back on other games if the Steamoverlay is working there?
If not, I recommend reinstalling Steam just in general.
