What happened?

Confused on what just happened. I just rejoined back in the menu and heard a bong sounded. I did see something for a split second like a stop crossed symbol. Need help figuring this out.

If you don't do anything for a while, the game will give you 5 minutes to click on something before it kicks you out for being AFK. The gong announces that the timer has started.
