Forcing a draw when you can't win

Postby NateNate60 » Tue Aug 13, 2019 8:06 pm

This came up during an argument on Reddit.

If you haven't got any chance of winning, are you obligated to push for a draw?

The example I was working with was when I proposed a mechanic where if it was a 1v2 (and not 1v1v1) the one person could elect to kill themselves instantly to speed up the game. The following example was raised: if a townie with trivial abilities, like a Lookout, was against two Mafia roles, then would it be gamethrowing to commit suicide? u/Sspockuss brought up that if the townie had a Guardian Angel on them, then they could force a draw as long as the Guardian Angel had both cleanses left.

If a draw like that would be forced, then the GA become the sole victor of this match.
One should usually prefer to draw when there is no chance of winning and leaving while alive is usually against the rules as well.
