Patch Notes: B.0.2.7 (Shop on PTR now!)

Hello Townies!

Welcome to the patch notes for Beta 0.2.7! The patch is live on the public test realm (http://www.blankmediagames.com/TownOfSalem/PublicTestRealm) and will be on there until it is polished and ready for live.


NOTE: If you tried to play the PTR in the last day or two make sure you clear your cache.

Bug Fixes:
* Jester related server crash fixed
* More to come while we polish the patch on the test server

New Features:
* Shop - Cool new backgrounds, houses, characters, etc will be available for purchase through the shop. NOTE: On the PTR everyone have 5000 points to play with for a week. The PTR will be wiped when the patch goes live.
* Customization Sheet - No longer will you need to wait for 2 mins before each game. Set all of your customization options once before you queue and let the server remember them for you :)
* Stalemate detector - After 3 nights, if noone has died the game will be warned that someone must die the next night or it will be a draw.
* Return to homepage - From a game lobby or after the game finishes you will be able to go back to the homepage without re-logging in.
* New homepage music - It's... so... beautiful! :D
* Pets - New pet system lets little critters follow you around
* New stuff! - YouTuber skins, new backgrounds, houses, pets and more! With more to come!
* Backend work - Adding support that will help us to custom death animations in the future.


Fixing soon:

* Double jailor bugs
* Disguiser bugs
* Lobby list breaking
* Amnesiac showing up as mafia when investigated
* Friends list getting wiped bug
* Safari related bugs
* Medium buffs

Update 05/31
* You may now select a pet.
* Replaying when using the party system fixed.
* Pets now have a reaction to their master being lynched.
* Added popup for when you dont have enough points to purchase something.
* Fixed the 3rd female pilgrims lynching animation
* Stalemate detector now starts on night 8
* Client should now have an accurate Town Point count after buying from the shop.

Winning Games?
Buying with Money?

My understanding is that you can get some coins for winning, but mostly from paying with real life money.

Basically, you can buy some shop items, but if you want everything, you will need to pay up.

You get coins for getting achievements, winning, etc.

Winning with harder roles give you more credits.
Staying until the end of the game even when you are dead also gives you credits if I got it right.

So for the people who backed to have unlimited points for the shop, is that going to be available to us as soon as the shop is released, or is that going to be added later as well?

That will be good to go as soon as the shop hits live. We will be sending out a survey to get everyone account name so we can give you guys platinum status.

I am excited about this one - I was about to make a suggestion yesterday about pets but looks like you guys already thought of it! I like the creativity you put into this game. :)

Just a little annoying bug which I think you should consider, if you mute the music just before going into a classic/custom lobby in any way, then unmute the music in the lobby, the lobby music will play throughout the entire game, even when you mute the music again, until you refresh the page.

So excited about the stalemate detector. No more sitting in the graveyard watching the vet and the killer stare at each other for a week...

But customization and pets make me so excited!

Don't get too attached. Chances are they will be wiped one last time before release.
I have mostly rescinded my role as Admin.

All previous contact should instead be redirected to Flavorable.

Speaking of achievements, will we at some point be able to view them? I think it might be a good idea to include that functionality.

Also will the achievement we get before the update be saved??? I really don't want to get kill 3 non towns in a row with jailor again. ;-; That took some great luck.

Patches usually only take a few minutes. at most, an hour.

Patch for Live is not for a week or two. This is for the public test realm.

There is another bug that you should be aware of. A bug where the Jester is Neutral Benign, but reads it in-game as Neutral Evil.
