Yeah...
Back then all I had was a Windows XP desktop. I didn't get to use it much. Now I go to school with a MacBook Pro because it is a requirement to bring an MacBook to school.

Specifically a MacBook? What a shit school. Windows is way better.

We are currently reading Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress in class; I high recommend this novel. The story is set during the peak of the Cultural Revolution in China. The protagonists are sent to a village in a rural part of China to be "re-educated", but while they lived in the village, they discover a hidden stash full of translated novels by French author and playwright Honere de Balzac, hence the title of the novel. During the Cultural Revolution, anything secular and considered to be bourgeois are banned (including all books except for Mao's Little Red Book), so to the protagonists, the novels were very valuable. While living in the village, they also meet a girl known as the little Chinese seamstress. Together, they dive into the world of Balzac...

Why everyone is reading less...

Currently on a marathon to finish all books by Agatha Christie.
So far, Crooked House, Mysterious Mr. Quin, and The Circular Staircase is my favourite.

I have read this last two months, I think 4 fictions twice, two non fictions. One and two in that order. I would read more if my books were where I could get them.

Yes definitely. Plus with college I don't really have much time, and whatever free time I have goes to games and music. Maybe I'll get back into it? Been meaning to read the Dune series.

I knew there had to be book lovers on here. Town of Salem is a reader-based game So yeah.

Sadly the only new book I finished in 2016 was The Future of Us by Jay Asher and Carolyn Macker. It's about a girl who gains access to her Facebook page fifteen years in the future from 1996, and how she responds to it.

I did start David Lubar's new book Character Driven but the foul language slowed me down a bit. They should replace all curse words with Town of Salem versions of them.

Anyway I'm a big reader for the most part, have something like 900 books in my personal collection.

Finished reading Station 11 for class. Was pretty decent, characters can get boring at times though.
Watching the new movie Arrival somewhat reminded me of it, so if you like one, you probably will like the other.

"A Deserter's tale" is an amazing read, but not one for the weak of heart.

Basically about a soldier who deserted the Iraq war. It has why he did it, how he did it and what caused him to snap.

Definite recommend 10/10

So I borrowed a book from a friend called The 100 Years Old Man Who Get Out of His Window and Disappear.

It was so good. The story is fresh and new, the depth of the personality of the characters making the story quite intense.

Also, an elephant is involved.

I just finished "The Morality Doctrine" trilogy by James Dashner, who wrote "The Maze Runner" series. I recommend it for young adults.

You know, every time I get to the end of a story, it feels like as if time had stopped. I try to imagine what would happen next, but nothing beats reading. Instead, I resort to reading fanfics, but often there are only a few fanfics I consider worthy of reading.

The Crucible is a good read, and based on our favourite town!! (Salem)

also I own every single pony pals book, it's a lifestyle 10/10 would recommend

Good fanfics are always a blast to read.
Most suck or are indefinitely hiatused though.

I have decided to revive this. I love books.

We are currently doing a unit on Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing in English class. Have any of you read it?

Besides the above play, I have also read Romeo and Juliet and the Merchant of Venice. Shakespeare is interesting once you understand its meanings.

I have always loved reading. I average about a book a day. Recently, I reread Brian Sanderson's Mistborn series. If you are a fan of fantasy, seriously, give it a try.
