School ended at 10 b/c the power went out.

Last year, they held us for 4-5 hours in the stadium until the power went on. School continued.

This year, we have a new principal.

Change is good (Unless it's like fopddodle).

Campus is on strike apparently. No class in all of last week since they even have the gates locked.

I have no idea what's going on anymore. :l

I wish my school went on strike... :(

I mean, I like free time, but if this lasts too long, the semester might get extended into summer. So yeah...

Why do we have exams at the same time?

Done the Shakespeare exam today. Tomorrow I do a Humanities OPVL test. In case you're wondering why we do things so differently from you guys, we follow the IB Programme.

With each summative assessment, we are graded by a score from 0 to 8 through different rubrics thoughout criterias A, B, C, and D, which all represent a different skill. For example, B might represent "Investigation" and C might represent "Communication". The programme has established things like the IB Learner Profile to become a more ethical person, or CAS (Creativity, Action, Service) to get us involved with society more. I could tell you more but there's so much to say.

In other words, we do things differently and we are more focused on skill than knowledge. And we most certainly do not take AP classes. We take IB or HSD (High School Diploma) classes. The IB equivalent for AP would be IB HL (High Level).

Wow! Your contry's education are completely different from mine, we more focus on knowledge. We graded scored from 0 to 10, when we graduated Secondary there will be two options to choose: Study at vocational school or high school.

Vocational schools aren't similiar from yours, very rare of whom who studied in vocational schools get to university so they just learned and get a bore job (Like workers, mechanics, factory's tailors) but still because the rareness of employment they took it also for focus on pratical. (Small fact:Some who had Master degree aren't actually got a job so they striked back vocational school to get a low-salary job)

If you take chance to go to high school, they don't based on what you have done in Secondary, you must have an admissions test in three subjects which are Mathletics, Literature, English. You may attempt to join 3 schools in the aspiration form. If you failed shcool in aspiration 1, you may take the aspiration 2 (if they don't have enough students from aspiration 1), if you fail all you will go straight to vocational school.

High school have classes with classify by subjects groups (They will focus most in these subjects). A (Math, Phys, Chem), B (Math, Chem, Bio), C (Lit, Geo, His), D (Lit, Math, Eng). When end school, there will be a national test that will tested your studying through highschool, you only have to do subjects in your group. If you get enough school, you pass and the score will be use to attend university based on their demand. Ex:IT study need A, Doctoc need B,...etc.

@kha

Your system sounds like mine.

You can go to high school or vocational school. You can work directly after you take vocational school, but you can't get a diploma.
If you want to go to university, you need to go to high school. Students are split into three distinct groups: Science, Social, and Language.
Based on what you want to study in university, you pick one of the three group.

Here vocational schools are what they call the colleges that aren't well known, I think. The ones with short technical courses, 1-year certificates, etc.

High school til 12th year is mandatory though you can skip grades in different ways.
