yeah that
Alright, I'll reflip it every time I recount the votes, and count it double when it comes up heads so it averages out at 1 vote.
It flipped Tails this time.

Alright, I'm gonna consider the "beat the shit out of them" part not part of my job.
Also am I supposed to include your "big stick" vote in the tally as your personal vote? Because I haven't so far.
Descender wrote:/vote NoLynch as a proxy vote for 47 local elderly people who i got to sign a form
I'm gonna have to see that form. And the forum usernames of every one of those elderly people, 'cause that's what qualifies them to be a voter here.

It would even be possible to combine them into a single "ranked choice approval voting" for the benefits of both, though that still lacks the simplicity of approval voting.
In some situations approval voting is more effective than ranked choice. With ranked choice there are rare situations where you are incentivized to rank an option that you don't like as much higher to prevent it from being eliminated. With approval voting there aren't any situations that I'm aware of where you're better off voting for a less favorable option and not one that you prefer. Of course there's still strategy in terms of how many choices you pick, but you're never going to change the order of your preferences the way you might in ranked choice.
How would a combination system work? I'm intrigued.
I created a new thread for it:
Ranked Choice Approval Votingcob709 wrote:I declare that Ezra, Descender, dolphina, Briliand and me will vote in a block.
Ezra, Descender, and me vote for Nolynch
dolphina votes for Boredom, Horseman of the Apocalypse
Brilliand votes for Chess, Janitor, pizza, shellfish, Donald Trump and The Sun.
Nolynch outnumbers Boredom, Horseman of the Apocalypse, chess, janitor, pizza, shellfish, Donald Trump, and The Sun
3-1-1-1-1-1-1-1
Through block voting, all 5 votes go to NoLynch.
If you want to convert other people's votes to Block-type votes, you'll need to get the consent of all parties involved.
I hereby offer to allow my Approval vote to be included as part of a block on condition that that block as a whole casts a Ranked Choice vote, not a single-target vote.
